Fabulous!
We loved our time at Secreto La Fotuna. We ended up staying a couple more nights than expected as we needed to cancel some later stages of our vacation, but couldn't have been at a better place for that to happen. The gardens are just beautiful, with great views of the volcano and attract a very wide selection of birds. The 3-toed sloth in the tree on the edge of the property was the icing on the cake. The room was comfortable and clean. The pool is small but adequate for cooling off. Alex and his staff are extremely helpful and kind. Would highly recommend it if you're staying in La Fortuna.

We enjoyed relaxing at the pool with the volcano view in the distance. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was easy to walk to town to any of the bars and restaurants within a 1 to 10 minute walk. Still we even got to see the only sloth of our trip right on the property and there was even a sloth baby!

The front desk staff was nice and very helpful in scheduling tours and my transportation back to San Jose. Location was convenient to walk into town. Property was cute with lots of wildlife and a view of the volcano.

Wish we had more days
The Secreto is a gem. It has all the basics you need including pool, mini fridge & a out of sight view of volcanos. The service is above & beyond the normal standard. We are planning on coming again next year and stay at El Secreto. Our best wishes to El Senor Alejandro y Erica.

Alejandri was a perfect host! Very accommodating. Facilities were very clean and well-maintained. Andvthere was a sloth hanging out in a tree adjacentvto the entrance. Excellent restaurants nearby.

Alejandro and staff are gracious hosts. This humble yet well maintained place has a creek running through the entrance with a sloth that has taken up residence in a nearby tree. Perfect for walking around town and taking in the local scene or on a budget.... nice complementary breakfast ... would definitely stay again when visiting
