We had a GREAT time visiting Talkeetna, and this Inn was the perfect place to stay. It was just off of the town center near the Alaska Railroad stop. Our room was lovely in a separate house from the main inn building itself. The family that runs the establishment were wonderful hosts. And our breakfast of Swiss French Toast with Blueberry Syrup was exemplary.

Clean, warm and cozy rooms! The proprietors are wonderfully friendly and make you feel like a neighbor. The walls are a little thin, morning that sleeping with earplugs wouldn't fix. Very close to pretty much anything you would want to do in Talkeetna. When we return to Talkeetna, we'll definitely return to the Swiss Alaska.

I hardly write review. But I am honestly very pleased with our stay at this humble family owned establishment. A little hiccup during check in as our reservation didnt show up, but it was settled quickly with a phone call. Chris (the owner) was friendly and quick to get his wonderful son to get us checked in (in the freezing November weather!). Room is in wonderful condition. I have to highlight the nice, clean and warm bathroom. Ive not stayed at that many lodge and inn that has such a well maintained and clean bathroom. Kids love this lodge with plenty of room for them to move around. A pity we had to depart early the next morning, would have love to try out their breakfast. Overall, a great stay in Talkeetna.

Check-in starts at 4p. Chris called us after we left a vmail around 330p to notify we were in the property to check-in. The cabin is clean and stocked. Serves breakfast only. Saw the northern lights just outside our cabin! Overall was an awesome experience!

A peaceful retreat just outside town, this hotel offered a surprisingly delightful experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The room itself had modest amenities but was impeccably clean—clearly maintained with care. What truly stood out were the hosts: incredibly friendly, responsive, and accommodating. Despite our very late check-in and extremely early checkout, they ensured everything went smoothly. Even though we arrived outside regular hours, the process was seamless thanks to their thoughtful preparation and clear communication. The location is a hidden gem for nature lovers. Nestled in a dark sky area, it’s perfect for stargazing and—if you're lucky—catching a glimpse of the aurora. The quiet surroundings added to the charm, offering a tranquil escape from the bustle of town. Though we didn’t get to use the full kitchen, bar, or laundry services due to our short stay, it was great to know those facilities were available. They seemed well-equipped and would be ideal for longer visits. Overall, this place blends simplicity with genuine hospitality. A few more in-room comforts would have made it perfect, but the cleanliness, location, and host support more than made up for it. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway, especially if you're chasing stars or northern lights or majestic view of Mt. Denali and looking forward to know the history of small beautiful town Talkeetna.

The front desk check in person didn’t arrive for 30 minutes after we arrived. With no indication if anybody was showing up or not. The restaurant that they have is very limited hours. The area around the hotel seemed pretty rundown with junk vehicles and things around the area. The building where we stayed was completely unlocked. Any room that you wanted to walk in around of was accessible. This would lead me to believe that anybody that wanted to come set up surveillance or something in those rooms made it possible. The owner of the property stated that when you’re in Alaska, you do not have to lock any doors to any rooms.

The staff were very helpful and informative. The rooms were very clean. The only downside was that they are in a relatively remote location and so the tv options were very limited and suffered from buffering issues. But as we were only there for one night, it wasn't a massive setback. I would highly recommend getting breakfast in the morning. The Rösti was delicious!! We would definitely stay here again!

Chris picked us up from the Talkeetna train depot and dropped us off at the X, Y, Z lake trail head. Breakfast was very good.

Recommend this place! Nice clean room, quiet and a little bit away from the center of town, but a very easy walk. Beds were great and breakfast was an option on the premises. It was fantastic!

The town center and shopping, dining and tour options can be reached by a short walk. Many people arrive here by train and get around fine. If you are lookibg for luxury this isnt it but if you want a warm lkean room and comfortable bed plus an attached restaurant with really good food and large portion sizes this is it! Id stay again in a heartbeat

The room was clean but we’re in room 21, it had an odor to it, although my husband could not smell it. The lady that checked us in was very nice, but the waitress for the breakfast was not so much. check out was easy, but instead of I hope you enjoyed your stay it was you’re free to go, lol the area was very nice and you can walk to most places.
