Welcoming, clean and tidy entrance walkway seperate to the pub to get to the hotel. The reception area was warm in temp and greeting and we were checked in, breakfast booked and able to easily change our dinner reservation without trouble.
The room was clean, spacious, bright. The bathroom was lovely. The metal frame bed was a bit squeaky, but as we are fairly small we didn't squeak too much when turning over.
Mini fridge in the wardrobe was very helpful to add own drinks. Would have prefered to have normal instant coffee as the coffee bag felt very weak. But nice touch with the home made biscuit.
Lots of hangers and ample plug sockets loved being able to set the room temp.
Lots of history in the building and great location.
Only let down was the food in the restaurant, as we didn't feel the quality was value for money, there were missing items in the burger and they ran out of a starter on a smaller menu. At breakfast we requested ammendments which weren't followed. Wouldn't stop us visiting again for a drink or the hotel. However might try other food places near by.
