Avoid at all costs.
This was obviously a once beautiful hotel but it has fallen into an appalling state, and they are still charging llike a high end hotel
The lobby is acceptable and the staff reasonably welcoming but when I requested a soft drink at a quarter to ten I was told the bar was closed: it was still manned, and the staff were sitting around idly chatting. I was advised to try the minibar in my room but the drinks were warm and there was no bottle opener.
I selected it because of the pool and the location: the location is perfect but the pool is, as another reviewer said, an empty concrete pit.
The power cut out overnight, but that's quite common for Ethiopia. When I went for breakfast I was told there was no coffee due to the power cut but when I questioned this a cup of fresh Ethiopian coffee appeared within minutes.
The room was extremely shabby, in contrast with the lobby, and although it had been cleaned tolerably the walls and curtains were filthy. The sheets were washed but stained.
In the bathroom I found living and dead cockroaches. I can't comment on the shower because I could bear only the most cursory rinse after seeing cockroaches scuttle for the drains when I turned on the light.
