Excellent Stay

We really enjoyed this hotel! Our room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. The staff at reception was excellent and very helpful, especially in assisting us in booking restaurant reservations over Christmas when most restaurants were fully booked. The location of the hotel is great because it is an easy walk to the sights in the city but on a quiet street.

To be honest I was disappointed. My room was cold and noisy until nearly midnight both nights. It also has a slight damp smell. The women working in the hotel were lovely and very helpful, the men not so much! I expected better service for the amount I paid. The Breakfast selection was limited to say the least. The valet parking was good. I didn’t eat in the restaurant as the prices wee far too expensive.

Very conviennent and helpful

We loved the location in the town center close to the things we wanted to see. Staff was very helpful in an English speaking doctor later Friday afternoon. We will definitely stay there again when in Dijon.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Chapeau Rouge. The hotel was perfectly placed for exploring Dijon and the staff were excellent and extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel facilities were excellent and the restaurant is superb although obviously very expensive. Breakfast is also excellent ... self service, predominantly buffet with some cooked items. (Many other Dijon cafes do simpler and cheaper breakfasts eg coffee, croissant, bread before 10:00 am if Chapeau breakfast is too much). Our only feedback to the hotel is that rooms are quite cramped and ours was made more cramped because of a chair and stool ... we would have preferred more storage space than the chair/stool. Overall however our stay was excellent.

Great hotel. Rooms are very modern and newly renovated and spotless. The location is great, everything in walking distance. Service is also great. I was arriving late by train and Anna called me around 9:30 p.m. to see when I'd arrive because they close the desk at 11:30. There were no taxis at the train station so after waiting 30 minutes I called her and she ordered a taxi for me. I really appreciated that! I would definitely love to return to the Chapeau Rouge! Minor complaints: housekeeping was stingy on room supplies (towels and toilet paper) perhaps because I was traveling alone but quickly rectified that when I asked for more. The room is quite dark with just one small window looking out into a light well so the view was awful. Lots of lights in the room helped mitigate this. Expedia didn't offer a rate including breakfast. The posting says "room service" but there was no menu in the room and when I asked the clerk she had to check with the chef at the two star restaurant and he said OK but just at 7:30 p.m. The entrees are 80 euro so that may be fine for a nice dinner out but too high for dining alone in a hotel room. I don't think they should advertise room service if it's so limited in time and menu. Overall the quality of the hotel is great so these minor things were overcome by the good stuff.

Beautiful, comfortable stay

Friendly front desk! We were on the top floor in the back which the elevator couldn’t get to, so we did have some stairs to climb, but once we opened the doors it was beautiful. Super clean and roomy. Large bed, nice couch and decor was chique. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Dijon is a nice town- hotel is in a good spot from train station and other attractions. We left our bags when we had to check out and walked around. We didn’t eat at the hotel, but next store is a delicious Italian place with super friendly staff :)
