Very disappointing. Lovely staff, even though they struggled with staffing due to Covid. Restaurant closed 2 nights. Slow breakfast service, but understandable due to staffing issues. Our biggest complaint was the condition of the pool area, on arrival it looked like no one had serviced this area for a while… dead weeds at the back, no cushions on sun beds, the pool looked murky, not clear at all. Just really neglected. They had a private party the same weekend during which a metal bridge, dance and DJ stages etc, we tried to sit there but was too noisy. Huge marquise up from past events, messy inside, behind but in view from the pool area was bins over turned and a workbench. Entrance to hotel during our stay did not leave a good first impression, as had boxes of fire stuff and a carrier bag just sitting there. Huge laundry bags sat at bottom of stairs throughout stay. Looked like the front area needed a sweep. Just little stuff but all adds up. Looked so lovely in the photos, sadly not in real life. On the positive, comfy beds, lovely big towels. Clean rooms. Good food, and the owner was really lovely. Just needs some attention on the hotel to bring it up to a good standard.
