Quick stay - beautiful place.
Really nice stay ... we picked the room with a loft for our family and it worked great. Close to campus action. The breakfast was excellent!

One-of-a-kind experience!
We stayed 2 nights in the loft room. Our entire experience at the inn was spectacular. The only thing that would have made it better was if other guests had read the reviews prior to staying. As mentioned in other reviews, this is a historic inn and NOT a hotel. If you are looking for a hotel experience, reserve a room at any of the chain hotels in the area and/or don't complain when you realize the inn is not a hotel. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind experience within walking distance of Campustown and the ISU campus, then this is the place for you. We will certainly be repeat customers.

Iowa House is Outstanding
I loved the Iowa House. It was comfortable, ideally located and the young people working at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable. I can't say enough good things about the place. I'll definitely stay there next time I'm in Ames.

Multiple stays
So clean and comfortable! Great place to stay that is quiet - no pool/no kids! hate to be a curmudgeon but sometimes its just nice to have the quiet. And it has lots of character!

Came down for an ISU campus visit. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Service was great! Breakfast was wonderful! Cute place!
