The door was swollen and difficult to open. The door of the fridge dragged on the carpet. You check in/out at the general store adjacent to the motel. It was inexpensive, at least.

This is a small family run property. The property is worn but the UP is brutal on properties. This is a great location between two larger towns with things to do. The room was small but had everything we needed for a quick trip. We spent the days exploring so it was a great space to crash at night. The fridge and microwave were a nice addition to the room. No frills but nicely put together and comfortable.

The bad odor smacks you in the face as soon as you walk in. The carpet is gross-I kept my shoes on the whole time. Shower is tiny, rusty, and the water smells terrible. Coffee pot was growing actual mold inside. And the room felt damp. The only positive is the walking distance to au train beach.

I never write reviews because I understand that people have different levels of likes- I am not a fancy girl- Im mostly interested in cost effective options so I can manage low expectations- the mattress at the hotel was honestly worst then camping on a rock pile - I can look past the dumpster furniture, the tv smaller then my computer screen - but a mattress that has no barrier between me and the springs is where I draw the line -

Be realistic. It's a small town motel. We needed a place to sleep while we explored the area, and this motel delivered just that. AC worked, shower worked, fridge worked, TV with cable worked. Linens were clean and bug free. We felt safe. Having a convenience store right next door with fresh food and coffee was a plus. The beach being a 5 minute walk away was a huge plus. On the downside, walls are thin, we could hear the neighbor snoring. Crank up the AC to drown them out. Yes, the TV is small. We were lucky to be there in the summer and enjoyed the outside! Don't show up expecting the Plaza and you'll be satisfied.

The carpet and linoleum were disgustingly filthy. I actually went to a Salvation Army store and bought 4 table cloths for a dollar each and laid them out on the floor so I did not have to walk in that filth. And the beds were terribly old and stiff. Basically like sleeping on the floor. Don't feel like typing all the other bad things about this place. Either spend some money on renovations or shut it down. I would not stay there again if it was free. And I am dead serious. 4 nights finally over.

The staff was great but the owner should put more money into their investment. Maintenance is lacking and amenities were very worn (microwave, coffee maker, hot water heater- rusty hot water, furniture). The tv is about 12 inches. If you are looking for a place to sleep it’s not so bad- but if you want a hot shower with clean water this is not the place for you.

Simple, budget friendly, great location, had most of what I needed, minimum necessities. Didn't have a good place in the room for clothing or to put a suitcase or bag; only 1 hanger, and it was for pants. TV was very small. No ventilation in the bathroom. Next to party house, sounded loud and violent at about 3am.

If you need a minimalistic, clean, simple, no frills, place to stay that is an excellent value and located close to everything, this is a great place. We loved the store next door, they literally have everything one could need, and prepare really good fresh pasty's that are hot and ready and deli sandwiches. It is a mini grocery store, they have non ethanol premium on the pump. I was very happy with our stay there. The owners and employees are very kind people as well.

I don't recommend this place at all. After I seen the outside I was skeptical. Trash overflowing in a garbage can outside. Terrible nants. Quickly looked at the inside and decided to cancel. Lady in grocery/ gas station/ motel office called her boss about the cancellation and I was told even tho too late to cancel I wouldn't be charged. However there is a charge for one night on my credit card. I had booked 3 nights.

This was one of the most disgusting motel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. The pictures online are not representative of the rooms at all. The rooms were so dirty, I was worried about pests and bugs. I didn't even sleep in the bed, I slept on top of the bed in my own sleeping bag. Also, I did t shower here because the shower was so stained and the shower head looked like it was about to detach from the wall. DO NOT STAY HERE

This motel should be condemned. It is aweful and disgusting. Smelled terrible, nothing worked. No TV, lights didn’t work, holes in walls. Worst room I’ve ever stayed in. They purposely take money knowing that it is not up to any sort of standard. Th upper peninsula is always hospitable and accommodating, except this motel. Stay away.
