My wife and I had an absolutely terrible stay at the California Inn in Anaheim. The room was filthy and disgusting from the moment we walked in — nothing like the clean, updated rooms advertised online. The towels provided were dirty, which made us question the overall housekeeping standards. To make matters worse, there was visible mold on the ceiling and in the corners of the floors. This is not only unpleasant but also a serious health hazard. The motel is clearly using misleading photos to lure guests in. We strongly advise anyone looking for a clean, honest, and safe place to stay to look elsewhere. This place does not meet basic cleanliness or advertising standards.

This hotel is not located in a very family friendly neighborhood. We didn’t even go inside to check in. We waited in the car for about ten minutes and did not like what we saw outside and opted to find a different hotel. It might not be an issue for some but we were not comfortable leaving our car there or staying there with our young child.

I wasn’t expecting luxury given the price, but I did expect basic cleanliness. Unfortunately, the room did not meet that standard. The toilet seat had dried urine on it, and the bed sheets had noticeable yellow stains. There was also a Keurig coffee maker provided, but it was unusable due to how dirty it was inside. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the complimentary snacks and drinks were a nice touch. The overall aesthetic of the property had potential and could have been quite nice, but the lack of cleanliness really took away from the experience.

Booked this hotel for a quick trip, really really bad area, connected to a liquor store and there was groups of guys smoking/drinking liquor in the parking lot. Room looked decent but was so dirty, the walls, shower, the soaps were half used, one bed had hair and yellow spots on it.

I was nervous to stay here based on the reviews (cleanliness, cockroaches, parking issues) however the price was just too good to pass up. Upon arrival, I asked the front desk how often they spray for bugs, I was told weekly. The room/place had little to no amenities, so we planned ahead a little. We brought a toaster with us for morning bagels and the fridge worked properly for our drinks and cream cheese. Cleanliness- We did find the room to be in need of a deep dusting. Baseboards, light fixtures, wall hangings all had a good layer of dust on them. The sheets were also stained, something I had read about online, so a quick trip to target and we had brand new sheets, comforters, and towels (total cost $100). Bugs- I am happy to report, we did not find any cockroaches! Yay! We did have one tiny spider (pretty common in CA) and two little beetle looking creatures (not cockroaches, I live in the desert, so I know what to look for). Parking- we had no problem parking in the lot. On the last day, as we were leaving, we did notice a full lot. All-in-all, if you are looking for a cheap bed, no pool, no frills, you can't beat the price.

Room was very clean. Had to air it out because the smell of the cleaning solution was so strong at first. Not a negative, let me know things had been cleaned. The room was good size and the bathroom was so cute!! Fridge was large but the dresser was mostly covered with ice. Didn’t need to use it but couldn’t even if we’d needed to. Coffee maker available but not used. They had some snacks at water in the room for us which was a nice touch. The property is cute and seems newly updated. Overall, we had a great stay.

I love this hotel but the smoke alarm was chirping all night and the toilet has no water flow an we weren’t able to flush the toilet and it was too late to call the front desk when we realized it. But other than that. It was clean and I do love this hotel.

Check in process was fast & easy. Room had a mini fridge with water, sparkling water, & other miscellaneous snacks at no extra cost, which was really nice & appreciated. Bed was comfortable & noise level was good. We stayed one night for a work event in the area. Room decor was beautiful but wish they would pay more attention to cleaning the walls since they all had smudges. I would definitely stay here again.

Room was great, truly felt like home away from home. Only problems we had with the room were the proximity to the main road as you could hear cars drive by all night and we could also hear other peoples conversations through the glass sliding door, which startled us in the middle of the night.

The room was not clean. The floor was dirty, turned my white socks grey. The shower head was broken, so it got the floor soaked. Bugs were in the bed-hopefully not bedbugs. The walls and towels were dirty and smells muggy. My friend next door also had same experience. I definitely do not recommend!

There was gross stuff ALL over the walls, floor, and sheets. ALL bedding and towels had RED stains. There was also MOLD growing in the shower. The ONLY saving grace was that the water pressure in the shower was good.
