Girl on the front desk was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. Told her my name and that I was here to check in, but wasn’t acknowledged, so repeated myself. Then asked me if I was at the right desk, I confirmed. Repeated my name. She then said “what’s your name” so I told her again, to which she said “what’s your first name only”. Then after finding my booking pronounced my name wrong.
At this point she made a phone call, unrelated to my booking. I wanted to ask some questions and book in for dinner and breakfast. However she didn’t get off the phone, only passed me my room key while still on the phone.
The room was grubby, dirty finger marks on the bathroom door, both sides. The actual handle was sticky and greasy. The metal shelves in the oven were grimy and covered in food still.
Shelf in the wardrobe was dirty and dusty. There was a hair and a dead spider in my bedding. Overall was just dirty.
My room key stopped working, so had to go back to reception, and queued for 20 mins to get to speak to someone. Very understaffed and slow.
Bed was comfortable though, and TV is a good size. However doesn’t have smart apps for streaming.
Would I return? Despite being in the area a lot, no I wouldn’t, I shall go back to my usual hotel.
