Never coming back to this place
Pros: Great employees. We upgraded to the butler service and Joan was really nice and tried his best to accommodate us. We had no Wi-Fi service in our room the first few days when my husband needed to work and he got it fixed in a couple days. The spa is the best part of the entire hotel. Great service & the hydrotherapy room is awesome. They gym is basic but good.
Cons: I’ll start with the food. We were a group of 19 & the consensus was that the food was absolutely terrible. One evening we were served a plate of rancid fruit. A few of us got sick a few times from the food for various reasons. I have a pretty terrible gluten allergy & was informed that what I was eating was gluten free when it wasn’t which let to me getting sick. The gluten free knowledge was inconsistent. The sit down restaurants are supposed to be a bit better but we ended up waiting for the food for so long that we mostly went to the World Cafe which had its own host of problems like birds coming in and eating off the buffet which is very unsanitary.
The pool changed the closing times based on the day but it usually closes between 5-7pm which we’d never seen before. It’s a large enough pool that we never felt crowded but it’s hard to find lounge chairs bc people get up at 6am to reserve their spot. The beach was not usable. The water was brown and filled with seaweed. The $200 resort credit you get is basically useless. The resort is dated & needs an update. Lovely staff but we won’t come back.
