Large, comfortable rooms with no noise heard from corridors or next door. Good quality products in bathroom, although having to open such a large tablet of soap for a single night stay seemed wasteful. Air conditioning gurgled all night and kept waking me up and I couldn’t figure out how to turn it off or reduce the fan to a minimum.
Service in the restaurant suggested the staff need more training. When serving drinks at a low table, the waitress didn’t put the tray down, or squat down, so ended up unbalancing an open bottle of tonic which splashed all over me and the floor. We had to ask for the floor to be mopped several minutes later as no attempt was made to clear it up. At breakfast the waiter did not seem to understand when asking for regular bread rather than sourdough; it was as if he had a script to stick to and if we deviated from it, it completely threw him. We had gone for breakfast included with the stay; although the options were good, it would have been nice to have had a buffet of cereals, pastries and fruit available too.
I would stay again as it was very convenient to walk into the city or catch a bus from right outside, but I would definitely ask for instructions for the air conditioning and probably opt to pay separately for breakfast as may have got more choice.
