Unfortunately after we checked in and were ushered to the service elevator, we knew something was wrong. The hotel just said it was a “minor inconvenience” that was until 3 men joined us in the service elevator with large shop vacuums. Working in commercial construction, I knew these indicated a leak or large amount of water somewhere. I then directly asked and the woman sighed and said yes it’s on the 37th floor by the elevator, but you’re on the 39th so it won’t affect you… well, it did affect us. We went to shower and we had to water pressure. When we called the front desk, they said someone at checkin should have told us… the lack of communication and mishandling of the situation was astounding. We were out of water for HOURS. We were then given a plate of stale pastries and a note for the “inconvenience”. At check out we were told we would not be given a refund or money back, as we got a “gift of pastries” send to the room… unreal.
