Excellent hotel with great, friendly staff

Despite being in Tier 3 the hotel staff were cheerful and helpful. You can only eat in your room but the continental breakfast was good. If you have to go to Newcastle during the current pandemic this is the place to stay as they take Covid seriously

I have some negatives to report but first, the front of house staff on reception were lovely. Really helpful with covid operational hotel info, as well as parking advice. But I was REALLY disappointed by the standard of food, especially since I used to frequently stay at Malmaison Birmingham and Mal always prides itself on dining standards. My first choice of meal was not available -no problem there- but when it finally arrived after quite a long wait, the lamb bhuna was barely lukewarm and there were only about 3 mouthfulls of lamb. I was very hungry after a 4hr drive plus rehearsals, so just ate it. The sticky toffee pudding was nothing special and had no cover to keep it warm. I gave the guy a £2 tip as I imagined there would be no tray charge applied since delivery to room was standard practice. To add insult to injury a £2.50 tray charge was applied to my bill the next day! Even though it's now standard practice for the hotel? Poor. I offered to collect the meal as I had done in a hotel the week before, but no, this is standard practice I was told. This stay was not HALF as good as the one I had 2 weeks ago in Voco St John's, Solihull. Gorgeous eve meal there, hot and very tasty which I collected from the dining room and tasty fresh breakfast bun with choice of filling, (scrambled egg, cripsy bacon and mushrooms) fab grab bag plus fresh coffee to go. Malmaison breakfast was really disappointing. Clunky 'breakfast basket', cute idea but nothing exciting. Comfy bed.

Service & hotel was fantastic. My only gripe is the £10 per night car parking charge.

Our room was fab, great view of the Tyne and the Millennium Bridge. The room itself, was clean and spacious. We chose not to have the room cleaned during our stay, but we were able to get additional tea/coffees. One disappointing thing about our stay was breakfast. Our first morning we both opted for the full breakfast, unfortunately it wasn’t very warm. Our second morning we only had one cooked breakfast, this was hot. The continental breakfast needs to be

Lovely staff, quick easy check in and lovely rooms

Anniversary stay with nice room upgrade - thank you. All safety measures in place very friendly and efficient service. Very good table served breakfast. Stayed in a lot of city hotels. This is still the best.

My room was great, bed was very comfy, shower and bath was easy to use.
