Fabulous location, lovely spacious room with a view. Excellent staff and amazing food, great service.

We stayed here for an overnight to get away. We upgraded our room to a Club room specifically because it had a bigger bed - but it was tiny. Not worth the upgrade at all. The bathroom door had a horrendous squeak too. The hotel has been refurbished since we last visited, but it feels a bit souless now. A bit disappointing overall.

Lovely hotel in Leith. Not in the city centre but Ideally situated near some really nice restaurants.

Good hotel, great location in the heart of Leith. Very friendly and helpful staff. Decor and furniture is beginning to look a little tired in the rooms. Bed and pillows need replacing. Shower temperature was inconsistent.

Stayed 2 nights. Very comfortable and great location in Edinburgh. The roadworks locally were a pain, but will be amazing when the tram is running, so will return again. This was our second visit. Only had breakfast which was very good.

Reception was slow in part due to Covid precautions but also because there was only one receptionist instead of the usual two. The rooms are adequate and we didn't mind being at the back of the hotel but did not appreciate the racket made by a laundry delivery van early in the morning. The arrangements for making breakfast safe take a bit of getting used to and made opting for a hot breakfast too much of a hassle but overall they made a good stab at it. Wifi, TV and parking were all good. We had stayed here before and while it is not wonderful, it is a good option for visiting the sights and restaurants in Leith and is reasonably priced.

This was for a business trip and one due to changes in my customer group I had not made ( after being a regular user ) in a number of years. The changes made in the reception area were all for the better. The hotel itself was very professional, friendly and helpful and in these COVID-19 times clean and safe !. If I had one minor criticism ( very minor ) was that to upgrade from a continental breakfast to a cooked ( at a more than reasonable rate ) I could not do this whilst checking out before going to breakfast ( as wanted a fast getaway afterwards ) but only after breakfast when the restaurant would then post the surcharge to my account. In other Hotels including other Malmaisons ( Leeds) you can make the changes upfront and pay for them before actually using them
