Both their own website & the hotels.com website led us to believe there would be breakfast. NOPE. Didn't find out until check-in that the host considers the dining area too small to serve in due to COVID restrictions. Not even coffee/tea/juice/water in the morning. We got $5/person off the price after the fact. Would've been nicer if the websites were accurate from the start though!
We booked a specific room on the 3rd floor. Host put us into a room on the 2nd floor instead because it was "easier". I'm pretty sure we were the only guests in the entire place that night. What was the point of being able to pick a specific room on the hotels.com site if that's not the room you're actually going to get?
Bed was a bit firm, yet somehow a bit lumpy at the same time. Not the most comfortable night.
Things were mostly adequate, but certainly not pristine. It's an old building, and some things made it obvious, like the carpet on the steps up to our room being very worn/dirty; same goes for a chair in our room. Some of the wallpaper seams were taped, the bathroom counter wasn't quite fitted to the wall, we couldn't tell if the bathroom door was actually shut, etc.
Nobody was around at 11 am check-out. Good thing I had asked upon check-in if there was a key dropbox.
Overall, it's a basic place to sleep for under $100/night. No frills. Maybe at some point they'll do a bit of updating and serve breakfast again - but I would definitely call first to find out.
