Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa
8/10 Good
"We had the beach front room, amazing to wake up to that view. Only problem was the noises from the upstairs room and also next door, we could hear a lot.
The amenities are great, total 5 star hotel like. Staff are absolutely amazing, starting with the executive chef and continuing to literally everyone else who works here. The beautiful smile and kindness of Tayo (concierge receiving you at the main entrance) are details that make the difference. Mauritians are lovely people.
We had the bonus of “extend” our stay by staying in “the lounge”, this was instead of a late check in. This lounge was absolutely perfect.
The only 2 downsides I have to mention: check-in process is too slow, I understand they try to give you an elevated experience, but when you have been traveling for long hours you just want to get into your room asap.
The other thing is the dress code for the restaurants, I have never been to a hotel where there were rules regarding what to wear, specially when paying the price you pay to stay here - I truly missed that freedom and felt a bit uncomfortable to have to “pretend”.
Other than that, the hotel is amazing, well maintained, nicely located and staff is great!"
"The property is very nice, beautiful pools, gardens and beach. Staff is very helpful, but often slow (e.g. we waited 45 min for our luggage). The rooms could really use an update and they should work more on the cleanliness in the rooms (hate seeing hair on the floor or bed).
The kids club is amazing, as well as the game village in the garden, could be there for days. Breakfast is OK."
"Preskil Island resort was such a gem for our honeymoon. Had everything we wanted.
The beach is absolutely amazing. They had inclusive boating activities like canoeing, pedal boat etc which made it easier for us to enjoy the ocean without leaving the resort.
Very close to the airport as well.
We stayed there for the first half of our trip and returned for the last night just cause we absolutely loved the place.
Highly recommend for anyone."
"We had a really enjoyable stay at the hotel. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the food was very good, with a good choice at breakfast.
What really stood out was how friendly, welcoming and helpful all the staff were. Bella was especially lovely she was very friendly, kind and always went out of her way to help us. She regularly checked in to see how we were doing and whether there was anything she could do to make our stay more enjoyable.
Divesh at the reception desk was always smiling, polite and helpful whenever we needed anything. Sudesh, the shuttle bus driver, was also very nice, friendly and helpful.
Overall, the staff made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Their kindness and excellent service really made a difference, and we would be happy to stay here again."
"A spectacular resort with very friendly staff great facilities and great food only one small adverse experience at the grill where a staff member was a very terse other than that everything was perfection. The golf courses are unbelievably good as anything you'll find anywhere!Ginja Resurant was amazing!"
"Overall great comfortable stay. I was a solo traveler, so it was nice to find an all inclusive resort, reasonably priced with good amenities. It is close to the airport but far from other areas so need to plan for taxis to make day trips or ideally rent a car."
"Whilst the hotel is in a beautiful local and excludes a calm, relaxed atmosphere, it is the extremely warm & welcoming team that leave an everlasting impression.
After a long journey & a very hectic month in the run- up to this trip, the hotel & the team provided the perfect start to the opening of my next chapter in life. Highly recommended"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Savanne
Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Savanne on a budget is an affordable option, especially during June, August, and September when hotel prices may drop to offer lower prices. A stay of at least 6 days is ideal for exploring the region’s key landmarks, historical sites, cultural attractions, and natural wonders, providing great value for money while uncovering the rich history and beauty of Savanne.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Savanne travelers may discover hotel deals by checking the Deals section on Hotels.com, where you could find discounted rates on hotels near your travel date. For those searching for last-minute bargains, the Last-Minute DealsOpens in a new window section may offer appealing options. Additionally, the Hotels.com app features Smart Shopping , a tool designed to help you compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see updates on availability and potential savings.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on factors like the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal for your stay at a Savanne hotel. If you're seeking a unique experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalized touch and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price leans toward the higher end, we can suggest alternative dates that might be more budget-friendly.
Consider your location: Staying in the heart of major cities often means enjoying the convenience of being close to local attractions, but this prime location typically comes with a higher price tag. In contrast, smaller towns and rural areas are more likely to be affordable, allowing travelers to save on accommodations. For those looking to stretch their budget, considering hotels outside the city center can lead to better rates, although this may necessitate additional travel to reach key sights. Additionally, exploring nearby cities can reveal a wealth of experiences while offering more budget-friendly lodging options. Ultimately, while the allure of staying near the action is undeniable, being open to alternatives can yield significant savings.
