Basic accommodation in an old apartment
There is no need to stay here unless you really need to be in the centre of Guayaquil, which is not particularly pleasant. It is rather dirty, noisy and a bustling commercial area. Although the Malecon 2000 is only 6 blocks away, you can also stay close to it in a nicer area.
The building is old and the B&B, which is a converted apartment, is also old. The rooms are basic and due to the age of everything, it is difficult to tell if things are clean or not. The bathroom certainly was not, as the shower curtain was mouldy and had bits of stuff stuck to it. There was hair in the sink. Also the AC barely worked and the temperature was only bearable after I'd left it on for a few hours.
The bed was comfortable enough and the receptionist was welcoming. I would not stay here again, though, as for $32 there seemed to be plenty of better options.
