My stay here was extremely wonderful, from the salt water pools to the friendly and attentive staff members. My experience was definitely a great one. My room was cleaned everyday and staff members there are very diverse which made communicating with them a breeze. Everybody was so accommodating. Smiles on everybody’s faces. Every staff remembered who you are. Staff was maintaining the grounds or cleaning rooms 24/7. Having access to two restaurants, 3 bars, and cabana beach was great. If you didn’t like those options, everything else was just a few hundred yards of a walk if that. Will definitely be staying again on my trip back.

The staff, rooms and grounds were great. I just wished they had restaurants on the resort that was open past 6pm. Also people are on vacation no one is trying to get kicked off the beach by 6 & then have to go find food since it’s not an all inclusive place. All rooms should get wash clothes not a boxed towelette. You need wash clothes to wash your face as well as your body.

If you’re going for the swimming pool, you’ll be disappointed. Their strong feature, is the beach. The beach is amazing. They’re also connected to a beach walkway with restaurants and shops. They also give you a pass to a full gym on the beach walkway. if you like working out on vacation, this is a great feature. The Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. It’s a nice resort. I just wish the pools were better.

The Kontiki is a beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff. The property is well-maintained with great on-site parking. The beach view is amazing being that you are right on Mambo beach with dozens of shops, restaurants, and activities to participate in. I stayed in the Tropical Superior room with my boyfriend and can say the room was great, but needs a little renovation. My only issue is housekeeping, we had to constantly worry about whether or not they would show up due to the lack of service on our first day. Keep in mind room service leaves at 4:30PM and once they do there is no clean up and you’ll have to wait till the next day. I would tell the front desk to inform the housekeepers and somehow the message wouldn’t be delivered unless I spoke to a housekeeper myself; that was the annoying part. Another issue we faced is the smell of the sewer system coming out of the drain/toilet. They “fixed” it, but it looks like they just cleaned the toilet and put some cleaner in — an otherwise temporary fix. Regardless, our trip was still amazing experience, phenomenal location, and friendly staff. I would come back in a couple of years to revisit again.
