This is an excellent hotel. I was traveling as a tourist, and it is close to most attractions in the city.
The hotel staff (front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping) were always friendly and helpful. The front desk staff spent an exceptional amount of time helping me find and book various "tourist" excursions.
The room size was larger than I expected and well maintained.

The great things about this hotel are excellent location, interesting history, and the included breakfast and dinner, which made it so easy to come back after a day of sight-seeing and settle in for a nice meal. Clean comfortable and not mass market- great place to stay, 20 minute walk to market square at the docks and plenty of interesting restaurants in the immediate area. Breakfast buffet amazing (and included). Dinner also included but is a one- option affair so may want to skip especially if vegetarian.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Helsinki
Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Helsinki on a budget is a great value for money, with the cheapest time to explore the city being during January, April, and July, when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. A stay of at least 2 to 3 days is ideal for exploring the city’s key landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions, including business districts, shopping areas, museums, theaters, family-friendly spots, ferry rides, dining experiences, island excursions, romantic settings, and festivals.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: You may discover hotel deals when exploring Deals or Last-Minute Dealsopens in new window on Hotels.com for Helsinki, where you could find discounted rates near your travel date. For added convenience, enable email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and other special promotions. The Smart Shopping tool available via the app may help you compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to catch a drop in prices or the availability of rooms, making it easier to secure a last-minute getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on factors like the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates might help you find a better deal on your stay in a Helsinki hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personalized touch and sometimes offer greater value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average rate. If the price is on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that could be more budget-friendly to help you discover a more appealing option.
Consider your location: Hotels near the city center usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Helsinki's outstanding public transportation system, you may find a more affordable independent hotel a bit farther out that still offers great connectivity. If you’re interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even some lesser-known nearby cities, you can often find excellent value for your money. Opting for these alternative destinations might provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
