"McFarland Inn Coeur d'alene Idaho"
Nancy, the inn owner, is absolutely wonderful!! She know Coeur d'alene like the back of her hand and offered us many recommendations on where to eat, hike, etc. The Inn is absolutely charming and only six blocks from downtown Coeur d'alene. Room was very nice. Plugs and a shelf were available in walkin closet for recharging everything. Most comfortable robe ever. Bathroom was outstanding. Homemade granola, fresh from the garden zuchinni fritatta and much more. Husband was concerned about neighborhood which looked much better in daylight. Beautiful old home in quiet neighborhood in Coeur D'Alene, ID. Within easy walking distance to downtown area, resort and lake, but the innkeeper also has bicycles available for guests to use to get around. This house has a lot of history, is beautifully restored and maintained. Rooms are comfortable, but the privacy is about average for a small house-based […] B&B. The innkeeper has a lot of rules, but this did not bother us at all. The breakfasts were delicious -- you tell the innkeeper your choice of large or small portions the night before, and can mix and match entrees and specify specific items if you wish. Wine and cheese was offered every afternoon, and there are lots of drinks and snacks on offer any time of the day. Hostess is very nice, public amenities (snacks, drinks, DVD's, common areas) were extensive and generous. We were in the Coeur d'Alene room which is on the first floor - somewhat noisy since the kitchen is next to the bathroom and the rooms overhead result in noise from those guests walking etc. Would recommend staying in the second floor rooms.
