It was just fabulous! Such a beautiful cottage bedroom, well equipped with lovely decor, crisp linen, a comfortable bed, tea, wine, fresh cake. And the conservatory in the main house was a place where we could have stayed the whole time -- what a beautiful place to enjoy the amazing home-cooked breakfasts, sitting in the sun drinking tea, reading the […] day's papers, planning our walks on the great assortment of maps. Eventually we convinced ourselves to get out and walk along the coast and the beautiful villages in the area; but we were so happy to get back to our lovely cottage at the end of each day! We stayed in the very tastefully converted stable room 'Country Cottage'. Excellent welcome, including a bottle of wine and bowl of fruit. Good explanation and orientation, including a comprehensive guide to the area in the written materials. Room was warm and comfortable (the weather was cold and miserable). The in room chairs were dining style which […] didn't make for comfortable seating for any length of time. However this was compensated for by the seating available in the convervatory, wbere meals are also served....speaking of which, breakfast was fantastic. Great quality local produce, well prepared and presented. One small gripe. Lovely b&b, very peaceful and relaxing. Perfect breakfasts and freedom to come and go as you please. The staff at Holly Lodge were fantastic, they couldn't do enough for you and made my partner and I feel welcomed at all times. Their generosity went beyond that of standard hotels and the little touches in the room made our stay that much greater. I would not hesitate returning and would recommend it to anyone.
