Welcome to the El Dorado Motel in Twain Harte. We are located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and situated in a quiet natural environment surrounded by pine and cedar trees. The city Twain Harte is a beautiful mountain resort community which was named after two mother lode authors Mark Twain and Bret Harte. Right in the heart of historical gold country, El Dorado Motel is an excellent place for relaxation year round. The summers are pleasant during the day and nights are generally mild, making Twain Harte a pleasant escape from the long, hot summers of the California Central Valley and the Bay Area. Summer events start in full swing by Memorial Day. There are endless activities until the fall approaches and Oktoberfest is celebrated. During the winter months, Twain Harte is famous for winter sports and snow. Skiing and snowmobiling are the main attractions during this period. The snow laded pine trees present an excellent scene to thrill the soul. In spring, when snow starts melting from the mountains and flowers start blooming, it is time for hiking, camping, fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, and biking through the forests and along the canals carrying fresh water. This motel is a center of attraction for weekenders who are looking for a family friendly get together. It is a favorite place for visitors from the bay area, Stockton, Modesto, Oakdale, Bakersfield, and Los Angles.

Hotels.com のゲストによる口コミ 2011年10月11日 投稿ヨセミテへの往路に利用しました。 １２０号沿いには、たくさんのホテルがありますが、そのなかで、もっともヨセミテに近いと思われます。それでも、１時間くらいかかります。 ホテルのタオルがふわふわでしたし、ホテルのお水がすごくきれいで、とても肌に良さそうでした。 ホテルのフロントが空いている時間は、８時～２２時までです。（それ以外の時間は、ドアの隣にある電話で連絡を取ってください） 朝ごはんはついていないようですので、隣のレストランで。レストランは７時くらいにしかオープンしませんので、早く出発したい方は、ご自身で朝食はご用意ください。 事前決裁できませんので、ホテルでのお支払いが必要になります。 ヨセミテに近い割にお手頃なホテルだと思います。

This isn't the nicest place around but it offers fair prices and a comfortable stay. All my immediate needs were met and the husband and wife running it were very nice and helpful. The only downfall was I felt as if the shower wasn't as clean as it should be and the only coffee filter they provided was dirty. If you want an upscale, modern hotel, this is not the place for you. We found the location for our purposes to be satisfactory. It was a very quiet location set in the woods outside the quaint village of Twain Harte. There were several restaurants close by but not within easy walking distance. You could walk but it would be a hike. There is a pool and […] spa but, as they are located outdoors, it was not an appropriate time of year to use them. The room was very clean and had obviously been recently renovated with fresh paint. The bathrooms were outfitted with newer facilities--toilet, vanity and shower. Our only negative were the beds. The linens, pillows and coverings were clean and fresh and appeared to be quite new. However, the mattresses were not of the best quality and were not very comfortable. I was slightly worried by the other reviews for this place, but booked it for two nights anyway. I was positively surprised. Not only was the staff very friendly and willing to help, I also found the room to be quite nice and clean. It had nice furniture, and in addition to a small table with a chair, my room had a comfortable armchair in it. There […] also was a fridge, microwave oven and a coffee maker in the room. The main drawback was the bathroom, which just appeared old and rundown. It seemed to be clean, but there were non-removable stains on the floor and the appliances. About the location: Twain Harte is a beautiful small town located in the forest. You can reach a number of restaurants and a seven up store within like five minutes of walking distance from the motel. I stayed in Twain Harte to go hiking in Yosemite, and it worked quite well. It is a two hour drive however if you want to get to the center of Yosemite. It wasn't a problem for me and there are many other great outdoor places closer to Twain Harte, but keep that in mind if you are planning to visit Yosemite from here. I can clearly recommend this place, even for longer stays. I've stayed in some interesting places in my travels. I would rank this among the least favorable. For one the room rate was much greater than the accommodations provided would justify. Lumpy beds, no phone, no Internet connectivity, sticky bathroom floor, no shampoo provided, did not make up room are all some of the attributes of this stay.
