Rob is an excellent host who understands the balance between privacy and friendliness. Our room was quaint, clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Location was ideal for Cranmore skiers (5 minute drive) and just south of North Conway. I would definitely stay at the inn again if returning to the area.

We found this B&B disappointing.Expected more for the price charged and the reviews we had read prior to arrival. Yes, there was a bottle of wine we were invited to help ourselves to, but , we would have preferred clean carpets and no dog begging at our breakfast table. The hotel seemed tired and in need of refurbishment.

We stayed in the red elephant inn for a weekend hiking break, and the owner (John) was very friendly and inviting. The breakfasts were fantastic! Kept us well fed until lunchtime even with hiking up the local mountains! We will definitely be back!

Had a great stay at the Red Elephant Inn. Levels of service a highlight both from the Owner and his attentive and polite helper. Breakfast was excellant, in particular the home cooked element. The welcoming wine and "goodies" were a very nice touch. Rooms are very well presented and the Inn is well situated for all local attractions.

The B&B at first sight from the outside looked slightly neglected, but inside was a revelation, it was immaculate and tastefully decorated, and the host could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The breakfast was excellent and we were given some helpful ideas about good places to visit locally.

B&B was somewhat misrepresented on Expedia - there was no TV nor jet-tub in the Neiman Marcus room but Expedia indicated there was. These features are only available in some of the rooms. Be sure to check the B&B website to be certain of what you are getting.

Our overall experience was very good. Innkeeper is very pleasant and accommodating. Inn felt very homey, quiet and safe. Breakfast was excellent! Innkeeper has a cute toy collie that may follow you around.

This was my first experience with a B&B, and probably my last. I arrived at about 6:30 pm and was greeted with a note to the effect that the owner was sorry he could not greet me personally but that he had left. I went up to my room. No desk, and no chair...only a daybed and the bed. Sitting on them was not what my back needed. The TV was miniscule. […] I travel with a laptop and at 63 with a bad back lying on the bed using it was not at all comfortable. Breakfast is not served until 8:30. I was there for an event which I had to be at at 8:15. There was no alarm clock an no opportunity for a wake up call (no one at the desk and no phone in the room), so when I woke at 5:30 I did not dare to go back to sleep. The second day I had a full day planned and did not want to wait for a large breakfast that started at 8:30, so my B&B was just a B (Bed). I am usually a no-frills motel traveler happy with a comfortable bed, TV, desk, chair, Wi-Fi connection, alarm clock (for when I forget mine, which happened this trip), and a breakfast that is available when I need it for my schedule. We were origionally going to stay in a different room that Expedia claimed had a jetted tub, but when we called to double check, we were told that it didn't. I must preface by noting that my wife and I don't usually enjoy staying at Bed and Breakfast inns, so take this review with that grain of salt. We stayed 2 nights and our first impression was great. This place looks and smells lovely, homey, cozy, very comfortable. The room itself was nicely furnished, but that's where things started to go a bit wrong. […] No TV in the room? Or even in the common lounge area? Admittedly, on first thought we figured it would be nice to spend the evenings just talking over a glass of wine next to the fireplace... and it was indeed nice, but two hours later it's barely 9pm... all I can say is thank you iPhone and the Netflix app. No big deal and yes this lack of TV does have an appeal and keeps the place at an extreme quiet, so I don't call it neither a pro or a con, to each their own. But unfortunately it doesn't end there as then in the bathroom one could wish for a bit of more cleanliness - and I feel sorry for the owners as one can tell they care about the place, but perhaps their cleaning staff doesn't care about the little details. I am not one to confront anyone where I stay, i know better and I believe in pro-action, not reaction. If I leave a hint in the bathroom floor in the form of a dirty sink drain screen (clogged from the previous guest, mind you), don't just put it back in the sink when you make the room for crying out loud. So long story short, we visit North Conway in New Hampshire every year for the past 7 years, every time staying at a different place because we like to try new experiences. Suffice to say this is the first time I feel compelled to post a comment about our stay. The Red Elephant B&B is a treasure. Rob, who runs it, is charming, welcoming and helpful. We booked the biggest room (New York) and it was extremely spacious and well furnished. As well as the huge bed, we had two armchairs and a very cosy log/gas fire to sit by if it got cold.
