I heard the new management was working on the liquor-license which I honestly thought was the only thing missing. The staff where very helpfull, rooms very well stocked with cutlery and all the necessary, the indoor pool was appropriately warmed. The sea had too much weed, but that's probably a seasonal thing, if not natural. We plan to become regulars at this place if the management can maintain the standard they have set currently. Before we left I read so many reviews about The Soundings being under construction. Well, we must be the lucky ones who heard zero construction, and had an amazing room/area that already had undergone the repairs. Was very pleased with the condition of the resort. Knew it was under construction and visited just after hurricane Irene came through. Stayed in 2 bedroom suite and enjoyed it...right by the indoor pool which was a hit with the kids. Looking forward to staying again and seeing the completion of the resort next year.

After a couple issues with our toilet, maintenence figured out that someone had dropped a small bottle down the toilet which explained a lot! Great water pressure in the shower and toilet. Lots of towels supplied. NO funky smells, it was quiet at night. Basic cable. I sporadically got the WiFi to work (had to go out on the balcony). Everyone has their own balcony which is nice. We had the first floor so we could just walk out to the pool area/beach. Lots of lounging chairs on the grass near the beachside pool out front and plenty of picnic tables. There are two pools, outdoor one right next to the beach, the other is an indoor pool in the middle of the hotel area. Great for when it's raining! The best part? There were two bunnies that came out in the afternoon/evening to munch on the grass. So cute! Made reservation early. I requested 2nd floor. Was there week before this visit and requested 2nd floor. Requested same by phone 2 days earlier. Repeated upon early arrival. Not only did we get 1st flloor. We had a view of the current construction and were surrounded by black netting. We chose the soundings becuase we needed a one night stay. We are very familiar with the area and knew that the Soundings is undergoing renovations. Most beach resorts provide beach towels that you pick up and leave in a box at the entrance to the beach. The Soundings does not offer beach towels and told us to bring them from our room. Nice beach and clean room, but construction workers could be heard outside starting at 7am. This was also true while enjoying the beach. Circular saws cuuting through wood hammers and shop vacs going. Not bad other than that.

Room was adequate - could have used a makeover. Hopefully they will address these after the new construction is finished. (Construction in back was not pretty and a little noisy.) The restaurant served a great breakfast. The pool area was clean and relaxing. All in all a pleasant stay.

We stayed in the older section of this resort. It is in need of an upgrade, to say the least. Bedding and decor are dated. I wouldn't dare swim in either the outdoor or indoor pool (cloudy). They are in the process of adding rooms, which look very nice. I will wait until the new rooms are available before returning here.

My friend and I stayed here last week to spend the day at the beach. The location is great since it is right on the beach, but the room was pretty interesting. There was a baseball sized hole in the door to the bathroom and cracks in the tile. We were on the first floor and right outside our window was where they are making renovations to the building […] in front of us, in which I was woken up at 7am to banging and whatnot. THERE WAS NO WATER IN THE MORNING! When I asked the front desk about it, they said that they were conducting tests on their water and that they left us a message on our machine in the room the night before. We were unable to retrieve the message and there were no notes or signs anywhere letting guests know about this. They didn't even give us a free meal or discount for this HUGE inconvenience. They looked at me like I had 5 heads when I asked to be compensated somewhat for not having any running water. This place has awful customer service, awful old rooms, and a great location. I rented a studio room for my family, having been told that there would be plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children plus an infant. Room was small, however, manageable. Overall good--excellent location (kept the door open all night to hear the crash of the surf!). As we arrived in the off-season, the hotel was starting some much-needed renovations--we plan on coming back to see the results next year. Good value.

Everything that you will read about the hotel needing to be updated is true! It is old, the tub did not drain properly, the carpets were a bit sketchy. So if you are planning on spending a lot of time in your room, do not stay here. HOWEVER, if you want a convenient hotel away from the chaos of Yarmouth or Hyannis, this is it. We traveled with friends […] and had a total of 4 adults and 4 children, ages 2-12 and we had a blast. The kids were able to go from the pool to the beach all day and we could see them wherever they were. The waves were not too big and when the tide was out the beach was great to walk on with the kids. We used our room only to sleep so it was fine. From 12-3 you could purchase burgers or hot dogs right on the premises, and across the street there is a nice, fancier restaurant called the Ebb Tide. It was also about a 25 minute ride to Coast Guard Beach if you want the bigger waves. To sum it up...good location and convenient grounds, but rooms need MAJOR overhaul - which we were told they were working on. For the money it was worth it. もっと読む

We paid enough for a room right on the water for two nights. The hotel and the rooms are extremely run down and outdated. As a couple it wasn't the best having two double beds instead of a king or a queen. It was nice over looking the ocean but the beach isn't the nicest due to tons of sea weed.
