"Only complaint - water tempeture"
When I stay at a hotel one of the most important things is the shower. There was poor water pressure and the water was not hot enough for my standards. We were disappointed with or stay. We usually like the holiday inn express so we decided to book with them since they had an indoor pool. The pool was freezing and the hot tub did not work. The pool and hot tub were green and disgusting. The pull out couch did not have linens so we had to go downstairs ourselves to get linens. The tub stopper did not […] work in our room. I was impressed with the three gals working at the desk. It was after 1:30 a.m. and they were impeccable in appearance, respectful and professional. Everything was going well till I got to our room. I pulled out the sofa bed and the sheets were never changed, the clean sheets were wrapped in a ball in what appeared to be an uncleaned blanket and there […] were no pillows. When I called the front desk I asked if someone could come and make the bed. Instead they offered to change me to another room upstairs, but because my husband was already taking a shower that wouldn't work for us. Nothing else was offered. A gal from the front desk later came to our room apologized and brought me more clean sheets, a blanket and two pillows. She offered to bring us more pillows if we would like more and so she did. I made the bed. When using the bathroom it was obvious the bathroom was not cleaned either and it wasn't because my husband used the shower. I instructed my grandchildren and my husband to be sure to put paper on the toilet seat before using it just in case. Through out the night I couldn't help but wondered what else had not been cleaned. If we, our two grandchildren 7 and 12 and my husband and I, weren't so tired from 9 hours of driving we would have changed rooms, but we were just so exhausted from our trip all we wanted to do was get to sleep. This hotel is extremely nice! The service is amazing. When we arrived after a long drive, the lady at the front desk gave us names and numbers to local food delivery spots so that we wouldn't have to leave. "For the price, I expected better....."
I had booked the room through Expedia early that same morning. We arrived at 10:00 PM after driving all day and the clerk told me that they did not have the reservation. As she was checking the availability of a room for us, she told us that the reservation had just arrived in their system. The room was fairly standard but the bed was not comfortable. […] It felt like there was plastic on top of the mattress. The mattress needed to be upgraded in that particular room. Almost asked for another room but we were too tired to make the effort. "Will not stay there again."
We used Expedia Travel Services to book a TWO bed suite at Holiday Inn in Texarkana, AR and got a ONE bed suite at the same rate. Talk about a ripoff, they couldn't even let us know in advance that they did not have the room that we had reserved. If you stay there, go for a dip in their "heated" indoor pool. I just wish the manager would try that, maybe […] the heat would be turned on at the pool and not quite soo much clorine be used. For the insultingly high rate we had to pay (no other rooms to be had) , one would expect to have fresh towels in the room(had to go to front desk and ask for them), could atleast gotten the trash emptied or the beds made even though they did not change the linen(you know the green thing with doing so much washing). Newer hotel, very clean and comfortable. Indoor pool was nice size for recreational swim. Only drawback was getting back in the car to find a place to eat dinner, but the breakfast was good and easy. Seemed to be a relatively new hotel. Smelled new. Friendly staff. Decent sized room with sitting area. Extra blankets and pillows already in room. Shower was clean and had decent water pressure.
