The good: Hotel was very clean, room was clean, ammenities were good, breakfast was good. Comfortable beds. The bad: Rooms do not look quite like they did in the pictures online. Wifi did not work the entire time we were there, we (as well as 2 other guests at the hotel) complained to service desk more than once but problem was never fixed. The ugly: […] We showed up to check in at 1:00, were given 2 room keys. One of the keys did not work. When we arrived, the door to the room was wide open, the room was not ready and had not been cleaned. We went back to service desk, she said it was because check-in time was not until 4:00! She said there were no other rooms available; however there should have been plenty of rooms since there appeared to be very few guests staying there. We had to leave hotel and come back in 3 hours so they could have time to clean the room. We did not feel like we received very good customer service, and will not be staying here again!!! もっと読む

We enjoyed the room, the bed was comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of variety, great for the money!

Great location! Close to Moody Gardens and right on the sea wall.There was a little bit of mold on the wall under the sink in the bathroom.

Me and my wife enjoyed our stay. Very relaxing and close to the seawall. There were a couple of security issue with the hotel....the back access door to get in the hotel was not locked, so it was opened to anyone would wanted access to the hotel without going thru the main entrance. Also my room balcony door would not lock at all...but other than that […] the staff was friendly and the hotel was comfortable...I would stay there again. This was a nice hotel. The beds were very comfortable!

We stayed in a room directly facing the Gulf. It was a beautiful view but the winds were so strong during that week, that we could not spend much time on the spacious balcony. Also, from google maps, it looks like there is a sliver of beach across the Seawall Blvd. It may be because of the storms coming from the south, and the tide had risen, but only […] the breaker rocks were there: You had to travel about a mile down the road to get to any sand. Hotel staff was great and room as expected. Pool water was cold and green so not too nice for spring break stay.

We booked this with a sea view and paid top dollar as it was a busy weekend. The hotel was standard holiday inn express but the suite we booked was feeling the affects of weather - smelled damp and musty with rust on much of the metalwork - door etc Overall ok, but room disappointing

Nice clean and quite place to stay.. Will book again soon... Helpful and friendly front desk to maid service...

The hotel was very nice. It was very clean with large rooms. Nice breakfast with many choices. The girl working the desk when we checked in was very friendly and helpful.

It's a nice hotel, great location if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Seawall.We enjoyed our stay there. Our only complaint was the bed. It could have been softer.

The hotel was comfortable and very relaxing.

The room was huge and very nice. We had a view of the Gulf of Mexico. The staff was very helpful and I liked the complimentary breakfast. One caution: They do not have enough carts for your baggage at check out time and we had to carry our bags to the car.

I was with my family in this hotel for two days. I loved the location and hotel. It is by the bay. Outdoor pool is nice. The room has damped smell. Hair dryer was not working, after complaining hotel changed the dryer. In the night we have discovered cockroatch in bathroom, bed room and under the microwave area. I have taken a picture of it. Room was nice. Balcony view was very pretty. Chlorine in the hot tub was WAY to strong! The breakfast was closed and completely cleaned up 2 minutes before it was supposed to end so was a little bummed.

Good Value for the money. Great breakfast. Hotel staff is a bit rude and short but other than that we had a good stay.

The hotel although small was very clean. Housekeeping kept the bedsheets and towels fresh. The breakfast experience (if you can wake up for it) was very nice even if the food was mediocre. The keycards would lose functionality sometimes but the front desk was good about re-coding the cards quickly. We enjoyed the hotel a lot. Everything was clean. All rooms have a view of the ocean. Great breakfast.

This Holiday Inn Express was pretty typical of a Holiday Inn Express. The rooms were large, the bed was pretty comfy, everything was clean. There were only two negatives to notice: 1) the hallways smelled musty. I figure that's because of the proximity to the Gulf and the basic, horrific, humidity the Gulf Coast has and. 2) someone left a shoe insert […] in front of my door. I don't know if it was there before I went in (it was late & I was tired), but I was grossed out to find it when I woke up at 12:39am to go check that I had locked my truck. And actually, that's #3, I guess. Galveston itself isn't known for its lack of crime. I was totally paranoid all night. My fault, because I left my equipment and laptop in the car since I was so tired, but still, when visiting Galveston I recommend taking the time and making the effort to get anything of value out of your car. I would definitely stay at the hotel again, and particularly at this time of year. The seawall was quiet, the pelicans were flying and I could watch the sparkling sun on the water while eating breakfast. もっと読む

The room was better than I expected, clean and comfortable. It was about half way between the State Park (where we fished) and the East end. There was no beach access close to the hotel, but that is common in Galveston. Staff was pleasant.

Had a fantastic time! The room had a wonderful view and was absolutely beautiful; clean, updated, very quiet. The staff was friendly and courteous. The location was a couple of minutes away from beach access and restaurants but we would most definitely stay here again!

We were very impressed!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions. The room was clean and I did not see or smell any mold. And we thought the breakfast was great!!!! We are already planning are next trip and we will stay there again.

great location ---clean--- try to go after september.. less crouds lower rates... watch the poles in the downstairs parking lot---- I didn't OUCH!!! right across from the Gulf---- personally walk the kids across the street and back---good value for the cost..... Regards, B,

I understand the breakfast was free but their was not gravy to put on the dry biscuit and ham. The breakfast was not good at all.

Our stay was excellent--super friendly, caring staff, good breakfast in the am, clean room, great location, not noisy. i would stay here again. My only complaint is that i wanted a queen bed suite (the bigger room with 2 queen beds) with an ocean view. I wanted to sit on the balcony in the evening and enjoy the view. However, my balcony had a stucco […] wall that was chest high for me and an additional big steel bar slightly above that. If i sit on the chair on the patio, there was no view. i had to stand up to see the ocean, and that too i had to tippy-toe to either see over the steel bar or crouch down slightly to see under it because it was directly at my eye level when i stood up. When i asked downstairs about this, they said there were no other queen suites availible. So if you have to book a queen suite, make sure it is not on the second floor. It appears that there are only two rooms with this stucco wall-thing (on second floor right above the awning in the front of the hotel) and the others were the regular railing. that can be seen through. Hotel room had numerous areas affected with mold and mildew. The walls and door frame around balcony had black mold growing on them. The sheer window curtains also had unacceptable amount of mold and mildew on them. Also the bathroom ceiling was discolored with mold. For as many people as they had booked, the place was pretty quiet, but th eroom smelled of mildew, and never did cool down. The breakfast buffet was a watery joke. Eggs and sausage were served cold. Stick with the bagels and unlimited cream cheese...
