Despite the fact that is motel is located right next door to an adult book store, it was a pleasant and clean stay. Please note, there are not any spa-like bells and whistles. I believe serviceable it the best word for describing the Motel Mediteran. Stayed overnite for a soccer tournament in Escondido. Rooms looked recently updated and were very clean. Room was a little small but had a fridge and micro. Good location. Close to restaurants and casinos and other destinations. Comp breakfast was good. Your basics. Got what i paid for. Would stay again.

Was not what I expected. There's a bar next door. It was a busy night.

Overall it was descent for the last minute deal, and could see myself staying again.

this is an old motel ,cheap rates,very small room.easy access to freeways and the location was just right for the indian casinos,all about 30 minutes away. our big complaint was the bathroom light and 2 of the lights in the main room were out. we reported this to the front desk but they never fixed them

Room was very nice but our ten year old was exposed to bed bugs!

Our first time to stay in this motel. I like the free breakfast and the owner (i guess) is very helpful. Bed is comfortable. It's priced like the other 'not so good' motel but you are getting a better room and service. And also, near good restaurants.

This property is good for the price. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean. The furniture is a little worn but that does not take anything away from the room itself. I can recommend booking the rooms with the king sized bed or the two queen beds. Both are spacious.

This hotel was clean and well maintained. The breakfast offerings in the morning are limited as is the space allocated to breakfast. But overall this is an excellent value.

Everything went great,from check-in to check-out from breakfast to housekeeping.The staff was great My wife and I know where to stay in escondido THE MOTEL MEDITERAN than you.

We were very happy. Very very clean. Mike at the front desk was excellent, very friendly and funny. We will stay there again and we already told family about this hotel.

I am taking the time to take this review survey because it helped me out a great deal while choosing a hotel room for my family to stay while on vacation. Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet and safe the nights we visited CA. Breakfast was nice and filling. My kids wanted to stay an extra night.

Renovated small rooms with a good shower, firm bed and no extras - no coffee pot, no clock.

Stayed here a few times now and I really put them to the test this time. My trip got changed around last minute and I called for late check in, but I pushed it past even that and didn't make it in til 3 am. My first room was infested with bed bugs. I was moved to a 2nd room, no bed bugs was found, but the room had a horrible smell of sewage coming from the bathroom. There is a bar and porn shop next door which made sleeping at night hard.

My room was a bit small, but clean, convenient, and nice. Highly reccomend. Would come back.

In the past 2 months I have stayed at a 5 star resort and a very well known hotel on a marina in CA. The Motel Mediteran is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at. I normally travel 3-4 days per week for business and when I'm in the Escondido area I stay here because of the friendly staff and fairly nice accommodations.

Very clean place carpet just washed smels clean

My daughter and I stayed for three nights and were very pleased with our room, the location and the prices. The beds were comfortable, the maid service was superb and the front lobby people were charming. In the next block is a wonderful bakery. We will recommend this to our friends and we may be back one day.

Clean and nice bathroom, but the bed was extremely hard and made it uncomfortable to sleep. I had a very stiff back the next morning.

This "Motel" is a great deal for quick stays. I was actually playing at local casinos & wanted a room close by. This is ideal. They have free coffee & breakfast. I asked for extra towels and they were brought up within 10 minutes. I was informed that they also have rooms with spa/jacuzzi for a few dollars more. Second time I have stayed here because of business. Good, clean, convenient and very nice people operating this place. The only issue I have is not having a coffee pot in the room. I am a very early riser and the office area doesn't open till 7:00 AM. I overcame that issue this trip by bringing instant coffee with.

The hotel was very charming. The room was very clean and comfortable. The manager was extremely courteous and helpful. The location was perfect because it was only 10 minutes away from Valley View Casino. The complimentary breakfast was good...waffles were tasty! My wife and I will definitely come back and we totally recommend this hotel.

I was first sent to #208, I think and after opening the door with electronic card, the room was occupied with luggage inside. Then, lady at desk had me meet her at #101. Room had been smoked in and smelled terrible. Then she ran back to office for a card key to #102 which was fine.

Very fair price...stayed once before and room was much better. Room was small this time, as if it were for a extended stay for out of town workers, as it had a microwave and the last room didn't.

Overall a great place to stay when all you need is a place to lay your head at night. The new remodeling was nice and everything was easy and comfortable except the new bed. Those beds are just too hard and the pillows are too small for a side sleeper to be able to get up enough to keep pressure off of the shoulder. Very nice place. The only thing I wished for was that there was coffee in my room or at least at the front office early in the morning. The office didn't open until 7:00 AM. Overall, I could live with this inconvenience.

We were given a large room equipped for handicapped people. The bathroom was very nice and looked like it had been recently tiled. The problem is that they used the same tile on the floor as on the wall. The floor is extremely slippery. I AM NOT HANDICAPPED. YET, I NEARLY FELL AS I SLIPPED ON THE FLOOR. The hotel was conveniently located near the attractions we were going to. The room was clean and comfortable. Microwave and minifridge. Free breakfast was excellant for this small establishment. Would recommend for a short stay. Price was right.

The lobby worried me a little when we checked in, but our King room was well appointed, and clean, and the bathroom was spotless. We were very happy with the arrangement and tile in the bath. One of the best in our travels. The bed was very comfortable too, and we intend to use the hotel again.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The staff was very accomodating, and the rooms were lovely. Everything was clean and neat. The breakfasts were great. I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone else. The rates were very good for the quality of service and accomodations.

Very friendly - gave us the king bed upgrade just because they had it available. Despite being a motel rather than a hotel it was nice, clean, and not cheapy feeling.

A comfortable and convenient base for exploring Escondido and all of the San Diego area! Quiet, clean,friendly staff and a good breakfast besides! Safe enough even for a Mom and children traveling by themselves. Just down the street from shopping, pharmacy, groceries as well as the sites.

Great little motel for the price. Upgraded me to king room free since it was my first time there. Hot waffles for breakfast too!!

There was no counter space in the bathroom which made it very difficult to use our toiletries - no place to set them. Also they let the staff go home early on New Years Day & told them not to clean the rooms of those who were staying on. This would have been fine if they had informed the guests. Convenient. Good breakfast. Big difference between queen room and king room

If you're looking to stay in Escondido, look no further! An exceptional hotel for its price! Very clean and friendly staff. Pool, fridge, microwave. Eggcellent breakfast. Do consider it's about 25 minutes drive to downtown San Diego, much longer during rush hour.
