We stayed here after a wedding and LOVED it! The room was MASSIVE and new! Great venue, great food and great service!

A bit of a wait to check in but the hotel room was lovely and the food was lovely. There was a Christmas party on so the service was a bit slow but very friendly.

Most reviewers have commented on how far it is from downtown Galway. Parking in downtown is a bit of a challenge and I personally found that the bus saves time and money. Hotel itself was very nice. Clean and comfortable room and good service. Location is a bit outside of the city centre so it is a long walk/drive into the city so not ideal in that regard.

The most comfortable hotel in all of Ireland! INSANELY comfortable and very very clean!

The staff were very friendly and helpful at the Clayton Hotel. Parking was easy. The restaurant was very reasonably priced with food to a high standard.

Very comfortable in all respects, food, room & friendly staff

Stayed here for two nights. Room was very clean and bright. no problems with service. The lobby, restaurant and bar are all beautiful but the pool is very small.

This was our third time to stay at this hotel for the Galway races festival.. It is a fab hotel, gorgeous clean cut and contemporary design.. They put on great entertainment each night of race week and it is within walking distance of the race course.. Overall great hotel and I would certainly recommend it to everyone..

We had a lovely stay at the Clayton Hotel. The rooms were very clean, with very comfortable beds and great bathrooms. It is a little way out of the main centre, which was fine for us as we had a car, but I saw a bus stop right outside the hotel too. Thoroughly recommend it!

The hotel was very comfortable. We enjoyed the full breakfast buffet that was included. The room was well decorated and comfortable. The only drawback was that the excercise room was in the basement by itself and somewhat isolated. The hotel was fine, large clean room and hotel was in good condition BUT it is near nothing! you need a car to get to galway it is NOT a walk.

Clayton is a Greate hotel!!We had a family weekend!!Was the best hotel in ireland i ever stayed! Irecommend it to everyone!!Greate breakfast,very nice swimmin pool!!Only think ,you have to have a car to stay in Clayton!Because it's outside the town!We had one so had no problem!!!Enjoy your stay!!!

We arrived with two American friends who were just off the plane in Shannon. The Receptionist was very good and got us two rooms on arrival. We decided to book in for breakfast but was not at all impressed with the breakfast area or the breakfast itself. I asked for low fat milk but was told they did not have any. I thought this was a 4 star hotel?? […] The crockery at the table was full of grit, as if the dishwasher did was not working properly. I asked for them to be re-washed. We could not use them. We had to request for the crockery to be re-washed the following morning also. Not good. Also, another small issue was that we had a double room but there was only one sit of towels in the bathroom. The other set was in the wardrobe?? So my advice is if you stay in this hotel and book a double room is the collect your towels from the wardrobe before stepping into the shower!! Was disappointed to arrive to the room to find yoghurt and fruit stored in a cupboard from previous guests. Details had been overlooked. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.

I must say that we were impresed by all aspects of the hotel with its comfortable spacious rooms,free broadband connection excellent breakfast and reasonable rates including free parking. Hotel staff was especially curteous helpful and provided prompt service. Highly recommended.

Convenient location on the city network and close to the hub of the city. The only drawback was finding the entrance which should be earmarked by a direction sign pointing to the left from the Ballybrit roundabout. The Clayton hotel ticked all the boxes, comfortable, pleasant and good value. Slightly outside the city but there was always a string of taxis outside so never waiting long. The hotel is located just off the motorway and easily accessible. Hotel seems very family orientated, one draw back was kids screaming in corridors in the morning time.

Our room was very large and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the restaurant had a nice menu at reasonable prices for dinner. The hotel is not central to the tourist areas of Galway. The hotel helped us book a tour to Connemara and the tour company picked us up and brought us back to […] the hotel. Lovely hotel..Only draw back was that it is a little bit too far out of town. Other than that the hotel was just as described on the website.was happy with our stay!

The twin room was excellent - nice and comfortable. The staff were friendly. Bar food was excellent. Location is just off ringroad on Dublin side of city, but 10 minutes drive to city centre. Swimming pool is small but better than nothing! Good value.

Located on the outskirts of Galway city. Easy access from Dublin and the rest of the country. Short drive into the city centre. Arrival was a little awkward, but I'm a dumb American and the roundabouts can be tricky. Eventually it took two tries to get into the right lane for exiting. The hotel is practically right on top of the roundabout which was at first disconcerting, but the noise isn't noticeable in the rooms. The staff were friendly and the reservation was all fine. […] Clearly this is a business hotel, they were hosting multiple conferences and seminars but not very many regular tourists. Given the number of hotels in the area and the number of those that are much closer the the center of the city, this isn't really surprising. We had an issue with the PPV, but the staff were all over it and it was relatively quickly resolved. The room was very contemporary in decor and completely clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was well maintained with good water pressure. We ordered room service which arrived quickly; the food was passable but not worth the expense. While it wasn't close to the center of the city in comparison to other hotels in the area, it was only a 7 minute drive with decent traffic and parking is plentiful if slightly expensive (about E2.40 per hour). Overall, as far as two night stays go this was a very fine experience and I would recommend it especially if you are getting a more reasonable rate offer than you are elsewhere. もっと読む

First off, the Clayton Hotel was gorgeous, the only downside is that it is not close to anything in Galway. It would be a great place to stay if you had a car, but not if you are depending on cabs. the Clayton in Galway is a beautiful4 * hotel, friendly staff, and beautifully appointed bedrooms, i would definately recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed the Clayton, but were absolutely SHOCKED when we were handed a phone bill totaling almost 200 Euro for a bunch of LOCAL calls we made. We're used to hotels in the U.S. not charging a dime for local calls. Would have been nice to know this beforehand. It's so clean! The rooms are gorgeous and some great deals available since NAMA took over it. The pool, steam room and sauna are great. Highly recommended!

I booked a double room for myself and my partner (were a gay couple) but when checking in, the woman at reception decided to change it to two twin beds. I said to her I wanted a double at which point she looked at my partner then looked back at me in complete horror! This created a very awkward moment! When we went up to our room, she had given us a […] disabled room. In these rooms, you can't lift the shower above your shoulders so it obviously was not suitable! Me and my partner question if she done this on purpose after the look of horror when she realised we were a gay couple! This put a bit of a downer on our stay! We chose this hotel as a result of reviews from previous guests, and they were spot on. The hotel is lovely and even looks and "smells" like new. Very clean in all areas. Check in staff and breakfast staff excellent. Lots of free parking, shopping next door. Overall an excellent hotel when visiting Galway.

The front of house staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. Highly recommended!!

Was only there for 2 nights with a friend and had a great time staff were excellent and food was very good i highly recommend the mash potatoes.

I've stayed at the Clayton on a number of occasions now, and have booked both suites and standard rooms. The location is great for arriving from Galway Airport but it is a few miles outside of Galway city centre. This really isn't an issue unless you have to have a city centre location. The only criticism I can offer is not levelled at the Clayton at […] all but at Galway City Council as the roads around Galway - dual carriage ways - become excessively busy at peak times. This hotel must be a couple of years old now, and it's as spotless and perfect as when first opened. Really, I've stayed in a LOT of hotels, and the Clayton rates as one of the very best. The standard room sizes are big, the beds are ultra comfortable and the showers are excellent. As with all Irish hotels, there aren't many givaways like welcome water/ chocolates/pens/notepads etc, but all rooms have good tea/coffee making facilities, safes, irons etc. flat screen TVs. The one thing I always find here is that you get a really good night sleep as the rooms are really well sound-proofed. I like the bar, and it has a variety of seating arrangements and good priced food. I've only ever used the main restaurant for breakfast. You wait to be seated and can request an area to sit if you wish. The selection of food is extremely good at breakfast and includes cooked, cereals, pastries, porrige, yoghurts, fruit etc. The only thing (talk about minor) that I don't like is the machine you get your juice from - the orange juice wasn't very good. Would be nicer to have jugs of fresh juice. This hotel caters really well to families as well as business types. It's location is opposite a huge Dunnes supermarket where there's a Kfc and other shops and on the other side is the Galway Races stadium. I honestly cannot believe anyone would ever be disappointed staying at this hotel. I intend booking addtiional rooms in the remaining few months of this year and I know i'll be back again.
