There are some great things about this particularly property, but I will highlight the three things that I believe make it inferior to other 4-5 star properties that I have frequented in Istanbul. 1. Design/Cleanliless: The lobby of the hotel is very dark, narrow, and cramped with low ceilings. Instead of being stylish and cozy, it apears uninviting […] and impractical. The hallways are very long, so you may have a very long walk (the equivalent of one or two city blocks) depending on how far your room is from the hotels. There are cheezy pink lights that make the hallways look like a Vegas casino. The room itself was dirty, with unsightly stains on the sofa and bedspread, smudges on the doors, and stains on the vanity and bathroom marble. I switched to another room and it was equally unkempt. One good quality is that the room had a nice outdoor balcony. 2. Location--The hotel is close to many hotspots in Istanbul (e.g., Ortokoy, Taksim) but is not walking distance to ANY of them. You have to take a taxi to go anywhere. Having said this, the surrounding neighborhood is beautiful and pleasant, it's just not super convenient. Other upscale hotels are more conveniently located. 3. Service--the service at this W is not up to par with other W's that I have visited in the US. The safe in my room did not operate, and it took me three calls to get it repaired. I asked for directions to Hermes and the concierge said that he would put it under my door but never did. The room service food was cold. Some of the prices are quoted in Turkish lira but are actually Euro prices (be sure to check which is which, as Euro is approximately double turkish lira). The front desk manager and staff are partcularly unprofessional. My impression is that the hotel suffers from poor management across the board. I witnessed other irate customers at the reception desk when I frequented the lobby to use the free wireless (wireless in the room is exorbitant). Some customers even resorted to using pr もっと読む

The hotel was excellent- from the hotel staff to the rooms. to the location. the coneirge was also extremely helpful. I had an amazing stay at the W, and the Akaretler Yokusu area has become one of the hottest places in istanbul.

A very interesting concept in hotels. Very modern. Our family liked it very much

only negative, the lousy breakfast. terrible service,overpriced and mediocre food. 'wowed' in all other categories

The W Istanbul Hotel is located in an updated chic neighborhood with modern contemporary amenities with a location that boasts old world charm. I definetly recommend this hotel for a business or a short stay in istanbul due to its location. It's very charming and very well managed. Extremely polite staff ready to meet your needs. it's great that the shower and toilet is seperate in the room.. It's a renovated chic historic building.. would definetly stay again...

Un hotel muy bien decorado y ambientado. A 15 minutos caminando del tranvía que te lleva a las principales atracciones. El sector es muy agradable para caminar. Lo malo...el precio de los "extras", carísimo.

Très bon hôtel dans l'ensemble. Bon service. Très confortable.

Estive hospedada com amigas e simplesmente adoramos. A localização é otima, o serviço é impecável, a decoração é moderna e tudo é muito bonito e aconchegante. Foi uma pena não ficarmos mais tempo para poder curtir mais o Hotel. Nem fomos ao spa!!!

Hotellet er i bedste wallpaperstil med fed musik i alle lokaler og lækkert indrettet ned til mindste detalje. Værelserne er kæmpestore og med egen Hamami følelse. Vil klart anbefale stedet til alle der holder af luxus.. Ligger meget godt i forhold til "Golden Mile" og shopping. Great hotel in the part of Istanbul where you want to live. Great breakfast, don't miss the french toast!!!

Das Hotel ist einfach nur toll. Super Gegend, coole Einrichtung, total netter Service, vorallem Cem den Concierge möchte ich wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Er hatte jeden Tag für uns einen Tipp parat und wir wurden nie enttäuscht. Bin vom Hotel begeistert.

Funky themes (felt a bit like walking into a fashion show), overthetop verging on garish but pulls it off. Staff are incredible and the various concepts (backyards or pagodas adjoining, hotel CDs etc) are great. Best cocktails in a verrrry long time (in Holland am alas subject to the DIY approach to a G&T and the bottled approach to a mojito).
