On the internet the hotel looks charming and quaint. In truth, it needs a lot of repair and the money they are asking per night is far too much. You cannot swim in the pool. It is more like a freezing wading pool. The walls in the hotel are paper thin and far too much noise from other local guests. Last hotel of my trip, and the worst so far... First of all, I had booked for a room with breakfast, but they told me upon arrival that it was not included in the price. Then, internet didn't work in my room, the AC was blocked at 26°C, the shower was COLD (apparently not the first time since I read that in another review about the hotel) and there […] was no shampoo or shower gel... Good customer service, good location, cool room design (sort of like a beach cabin), and overall great experience that was very affordable. The only thing is they should clean the pool, but who wants to swim in a pool when there is Playa del Carmen???????

Love Hotel Playa del Karma!! Friendly, helpful, genuine staff. Nice room in a gorgeous tropical garden, with a sweet little pool. We really recomend this hotell. 3 minutes walk to the main road, 5 minutes to the beach and 1 minute to restaurantes. The garden was fantastic with lots of green trees and bushes and the pool. But the breakfast wasn´t worth the money.

This hotel had a lot of positive reviews online. The room we were were given was big, but had a very "musty" smell, the sheets and towels felt damp. There was no hot water in the shower upon arrival. I was assured there would be hot water in the morning. No such luck, another cold shower. Reading other reviews his was the perfect place to sty in Playa […] De Carmen. Sadly I will never go back. We enjoyed the hotel being very close to the church which had masses at 8am and 8pm everyday. The thatched roof did, however make the rooms noisy at night, particularly when a neighbor's dog would bark. Rooms had wifi, but no telephone or TV.

We had a very nice one night stay here. Very convenient and safe. Kind of funky-cool, I'd say. Terrific and friendly staff and they went out of their way to make us comfortable. Enjoyed the beach club access deal they offered us. Also a quick walk to the hopping restaurants and bars. Cheap and Cheerful, all the way around. We stayed four nights. It was a great location, near shopping, night life, beaches and Cozumel ferry. Our first night and only problem was party noise from the street. Playa Del Karma is situated less than a 5 minute walk to the center of town, nearby 30th Ave where all the locals hang out and to 5th Avenue where all the tourists hangout. A western style laundromat (washer/dryer), which is not ran by PDK, is right next door making it even more convenient. Also within a 5 minute walk is Wal-Mart, Mega (another big […] but local grocery store chain), the ADO #2 terminal bus station, and a comfortable 10 minute walk from ADO #1 terminal bus station. If you take ADO from Cancun airport to PDC, ADO terminal #1 is where the bus will drop you off. Primarily relying on public transportation to get around was another plus to my experience staying here. But in the midst of the hustle and bustle, PDK still provided much needed privacy and comfort. The hammock outside my room was great! PDK was perfect for me as I took the bus to Chichen Itza, and Vallodolid, and the collectivo to XCaret. They also had a computer with free access to a speedy connection to the internet. Every day upon my return, I'd find a lovely animal shaped towel welcoming me back. This simple detail brought so much comfort and warmth. The Nativo room, which I chose, had a very clean and comfortable king size bed, a ceiling fan, an A/C unit. a personal safe, and a working hot/cold shower. After the first day, I just used the ceiling fan. It' is a comfortable stroll away from the ferry to Cozumel and the beach itself. The staff was very helpful in answering my questions about places to go and see and was more than willing to provide suggestions on local things to do. They made me feel very comfortable every time I asked questions. PDK also offer massages, bike rentals and other amenities. Like a small fridge for my room which I did not need but will get the next time I stay there longer. One more thing, since a church is very close, there are times when the bell can be a surprise but it never rang past 8 pm or too early to bother me. I hope to stay here again next y もっと読む

We went to this hotel not knowing what we were going to, but the hotel is small and comfortable, if you are looking for very friendly service, quite place and a great vacation this is the place for you. We had a great time and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would go back again... Thanks to David and the rest of the staff!!!!

We chose this hotel based off of price and the reviews, and we were not disappointed. While it is a few blocks off of the main Avenue in Playa del Carmen, it is still very much within walking distance of everything. The rooms face an inner courtyard which is well kept. The pool isn't much for swimming, but it does add to the nice comfortable atmosphere […] of the courtyard. Our room was clean, and the air conditioner worked great in combination with the ceiling fan. A water cooler in the front lobby provided us with a source to refill out bottles for the days activities. The only complaint I would have is that it is a little further from town, and off the more touristy streets. Although I didn't really find this to be a problem. Smaller hotel with high quality service. Great value! They have a really great discount at Mamitas Beach for chairs and provide you clean beach towels as needed. Breakfast is at another hotel a few blocks away, but we enjoyed the walk each morning and the buffet was simple, fresh and filling each day. If you are leaving early for a tour, they may make […] up a small breakfast for you to go if asked. There is a small travel/tour booking office off the lobby that can provide you with any tours or travel requested on the Yucatan and even into Chiapas, Guatemala, and beyond. Water pressure isn't the greatest, but you have hot water. No smoking in the Palapa thatched rooms, but okay on the porch, however if you are a non smoker sometimes the smoke can drift into your room. Rooms have AC and a fan, no phones, television, or other unwanted distractions. Hammocks on the porch. Pool is smallish and we rarely used it as the tropical garden setting kept it shaded and it was too cool for us. Yoga, Pilates and massage are offered on site for reasonable prices. The occasional millipede may enter your room, but they are small and not a bother. Rooms are meticulously cleaned each day and Celia makes wonderful towel animal for you and may scatter some hibiscus petals across the bed. if you need loud noises,lots of people and drinks this is not for you. very peaceful setting,simple but nice rooms.staff are your good friends right away.2 blocks to 5th ave ,10 minute walk to beach,mego foodstore 2 blocks. no t.v. but it is wonferful for a few days respite

Gorgeous little hotel, lovely rooms, all situated around a small pool surrounded by palm trees. Traditional thatched roof, just wonderful. Eigentlich ein sehr süßes Hotel, ruhig und dennoch sehr nah zur 5th Avenue gelegen, aber das Zimmer war sehr klein, das Bad hat gemieft und alles war viel älter als auf den Photos im Internet! Das Frühstück war leider miserabel.

La verdad no me volveria a hospedar ahi

Jag och min fru tillbringade vår bröllopsresa i Playa del Carmen och bodde då på detta mysiga hotell! Trevlig personal, mysig, egen liten uteplats och rena rum. Ett lugnt hotell men med närhet till pulsen vid turiststråken nere vid stranden.

Great service. Free beachtowel which you can borrow from the hotel. Free WIFI and computer available. We got a map of the environment and where to go. Nice garden at the center of the hotel. The pool is a bit small, but the beach is within 5 min. walking distance

Nice little hotel. Cute rooms, friendly staff, Good quality for the price. Location is very nice, very central on 15th Av. which is much more quiet than 5th Av and 10th Av. There is a guiding tour service in the hotel which is practical.
