There was no hot running water and temperature at night was 30 as well as in the morning. Rooms need a big uplift as well as bathroom as extremely small. Everything is outdated. Motel 6 is better.

The hotel was fine for the price but the picture showed a hot tub and when we arrived, it looked like the one from the beginning of the movie Hot Tub Time Machine. Otherwise decent hotel.

the hotel was so cute- decorated with the usual taos adobe theme, and the owners were incredibly nice and helpful. we'd definitely stay there again.

We went to ski at Taos during the Christmas holidays. We were looking for a quaint, comfortable inexpensive hotel. Unfortuantely inexpensive was the only promise fulfilled. There was no temperature control to the rooms and the pillows were circa 1970. The landscaping and the outside of the hotel was very cute. The customer service was great. The room was nice. We stayed two nights and had no problems except the coffee pot was not working properly but was changed out in a matter of minutes when it was reported to the front desk.

Where to start? Hot tub not working, rooms disgusting, shower didn't work, coffee pot broken...NEVER AGAIN. Multiple hotels with far better conditions nearby, and for similar rates.

We stayed at the Sun God Lodge in Taos for 4 nights. When we are in Taos we always stay at the SGL and have never been disappointed. The room was great and the beds comfortable. The only thing missing was a microwave and refrigerator. The office night clerk popped popcorn for us in the office microwave and since it was cold outside, the cold cuts and […] milk were naturally cooled in a patio chair. For the money, a great value to spend a quick night. A very cold night, rooms were warm and cozy. I would stay here again.

We were looking for a place to sleep that wouldn't break the bank. The Sun God Lodge exceeded expectations. The room was small-er, but quite comfortable. The staff was as friendly as could be. We would happily stay there again.

met the need, priced right, convenient, we weren't looking for bells and whistles--just a place to sleep-- quiet and a gracious staff..very pleasant!

The hotel staff were informative, courteous, welcoming and helpful. The room was on the smaller side but had everything I needed. I enjoyed the grounds. The hotel had a nice feel. Although breakfast was not included, the hotel provided coffee and donuts and a coffee shop was located across the street.

I checked in at 4PM and did not go to my room until 10PM. The door was ajar so I entered the room and tried to shut the door. It would not close. I called security and they responded quickly and fixed the problem. The bathroom was very clean but the carpet in the room was dirty as was the mattress torn and worn.. Such a quaint hotel and everyone was very friendly. The room was very clean and cute. But, we booked a room with a kitchenette expecting something to cook with besides a microwave: i.e. cook top, cooking utensils etc. There were only 4 plates and spoons and forks, no knives. nice location but motel needs updating....the shower was nasty with stuff peeling off the walls.

If you stay there get in the new section old part is from 50's with same mattresses

This is an average type of lower budget tourist place. The location, while only a short drive to the Plaza is on a busy road with strip malls and Wal Mart. There are no king rooms unless you can get a suite. The room itself was comfortable enough but I really don't like finding hair in the shower. Three members of our party got stung by wasps which had settled in on the forth step to the 2nd floor. We pointed this out to mgmnt who refused to do anything about it, stating they were only collecting material and not there permenantly (Time between "Sting 2" and "Sting 3" was 1 hour; same location). Website said pool and spa, they had neither. Bed was springs with absolutly no padding. I had to sit in courtyard near office to get computer connection. Bathroom was mildew invested. This hotel needs a complete update.

Like a motel my dad would have stopped at in the 1950's. Bare bones, surging electricity, poor interior lighting, scratchy sheets but not paying for a luxury hotel either.

The air conditioning unit was only reachable by standing on a chair and the ceiling fan was filthy. (A very nice man from the front desk did come and turn on the A/C and clean the fan.) price was right, but the floor was dirty with blood stain. the bed sheets were very worn, but seemed clean. the only way to cool the very hot room was to leave the window open with fan running on high and still it was slightly uncomfortable. the only saving grace was the price. The hotel was clean but out dated. There was no air conditioner and Taos was having a heat wave.

Charming grounds but Walmart across the street and major traffic noise detracts. Sheets a brown polyester blend, not a great sleep factor. Hotel a tad rundown. It is cheap. The patrons respectful but not particularly impressed overall.

Great location to local sights. Beautiful hollyhocks and "Ristras" hanging from the eaves. We did have to move to another room when the toilet would not flush. Very dim lighting in the rooms. Room was dirty, ceiling was falling apart, rocks on the floor, beer bottle left on the floor, toliet did not flush. We were looking forward to the hot tub that was dirty and full of leaves. It was not a pleasent place to stay.

everybody was friendly and accommodating. yet the rooms were not the best... little tiny bugs were all over the bath and soap presentation draped on the tub. MY EXPERIANCE AT THE SUN GOD LODGE WAS N0T GOOD SORRY TO SAY BUT THERE WAS TOWEL ON FLOOR FROM OTHER STAY WHEN WE GOT THERE TOILET SEAT BROKEN WIRES HANING OUT EVERYWHERE BED WAS REALLY HARD LIKE SLEEPING ON SPRINGS NO ALARM CLOCK, NO FANS. NEXT DAY DIDNT PUT NEW COFFE IN ROOM SILING IN FRONT FALLING DOWN SORRY TO SAY BUT HORRIBLE STAY!!!!!!!!!!

The staff was kind. But too far from the plaza, hot tub did not work, and the bed and shower were the pits!

The hotel upgraded for the same price and we were weary travelers so the news was welcome. Ample room for three in the kitchenette.

We enjoyed our 6 night stay at the hotel. The room was probably the smallest they offer, but it was cozy, and we loved the southwestern-style decor! The only thing I wish I would've known was that there was no hair dryer or iron. really bad sheets

We are a family of 6 and stayed here for 3 nights during a ski-trip. The place was clean and met all our needs.

The smallest room ever Poor Lighting Could only take a hot or cold shower.. This is an older hotel, but everything was just fine. The heat was on and all was quiet. A good place to stay in Taos if you're not looking for luxury.

Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Building is worn down. There were holes on the wall (missing towel rack), the mattresses were old and the sheets were of very poor quality. The carpet was old and appeared dirty.

The room was fine.The bed was to solf.The T.V. remote did not work right.

Our stay in Taos was great. What helped to make it great was the Sun God Lodge. The staff went above and beyond to meet all of our needs. The gentleman who helped us in the lobby was extremely nice and helpful in every way. The Lodge itself was clean and quaint. We were pleasantly surprised that the room was clean, warm (ish) and had a nice little kitchenette. Since I didn't reserve a room with a kitchenette I assume that was all they had left by the tiem I showed up. Be advise, do not stay in this hotel. Take it from a Military Officer, this is the worst hotel ever! I rather stay in an Army tent! It was terribly dirty, old and does not meet the most basic living condition! Stayed there for 2 nights and wondered why I didn't insisted to change to another hotel after the 1st nite. My family had to suffered for 2 […] nites! The radiator in the room was terribly old and dirty and didn't work! (no heater in 30 deg night!), carpet was extremely dirty, bath tub was in horrible condition, dirty, broken chips all over and without plug. Coffee maker was not working, blind cannot be shut close because the handle was broken, comforter was like floor mat (dirty and they smells!). Dirty tee-shirt left over from previous customer was left behind the desk! The toilet door was jammed on the second nite and my child was locked inside. Manager had to break the door and changed to another room, which was worst than the 1st one. This was the worst hotel I ever stayed in.
