一人旅で４連泊しました。立地が街の中心部から徒歩で３０分ほど離れているので、ボートの桟橋までのアクセスに少し苦労しましたが、周辺にはスーパーもあり、とても満足しています。ホテルのスタッフはとても丁寧な対応で、相談にも親切にのってくれました。１１階のウォータービューの部屋でしたが、部屋の中は清潔に保たれていて、バルコニーからの眺望は真正面に海がよく見えてとても素敵でした。

中心部から少し歩きますが、環境は良いと思います。ホテルの窓からの眺めはすばらしく、特に朝はベランダ越しにやや遠くに海、朝日が昇り気分が明るくなります。 ただ、ホテル自体はやや備品が古く、扉がうまく閉まらない箇所もありました。また、壁も薄いようで、完全に窓やドアをしめても、風邪を引いたと思われる隣人のくしゃみがずっと聞こえてきました。 最後にフロントには数人のスタッフがいましたが、皆忙しそうで早口の英語での会話となり、語学力のない私は、やや苦労しました。

We arrived early and could get into one of our rooms which was very much aprrediated. The men who helped us book our outtings were very helpful and saved us some money on our trips. It would be nice to have a few more food choices but overall it was a great experience. Thanks.

Good. There seemed to be a lack of staff on the reception and minimal night service. Noise of other patron in hallways late at night.

There's nothing really wrong with the hotel... except that the internet is very expensive (almost $1/minute) and the location isn't great because it's about 10 min walk away from the city. Probably wouldn't stay again but just because I prefer to stay closer to downtown and I need Internet quite a lot. Would not recommend this hotel to anybody. I've never been treated so badly by a hotel in my entire life. I bought a 1 night B&B package. In the morning I was instructed by the hotel staff that breakfast was not included and I needed to pay more. I showed the staff my booking form from hotels.com and they still said I was wrong. I had to ring hotels.com […] staff who told me I was correct and the hotel was wrong. They rang the hotel and told me everything was fixed. I went back to the hotel staff to get breakfast and they told me I was still wrong and I asked for a manager. Whilst on the phone to the manager the receptionist referred to me as 'that guy is still here' to which I responded 'actually my name is...." I ended up calling hotels again who spoke to the manager and told me I was right again. At this stage I left and went back to my room. 10 mins later the hotel phone rang and I was told that breakfast was included and the website had made a mistake.... I paid top money for top room with ocean view and got a view of city. There won't be a next time as there are plenty to choose from. It doesn't matter if there is only 1 person, if they pay for top room that is what they want, you must give top room.

I was quite pleased with rhe hotel choice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was good too. The Seafood Buffet w/ add-ons is a must. I would suggest to friends and stay there again myself.

Rydges Esplanade is fine if you just need a bed a sleep in,the rooms are very tired and the whole place is quite run down but it is comfortable and the staff seem friendly.

An excellent hotel, well located within easy reach of cafes & restaurants in the city centre. Spacious, very clean room with a wonderful sea view; hotel staff helpful when needed and a good sized pool for relaxation at the end of the day.

Pro: Near downtown (about 5~10 mins walk), have a good Ocean view (if you reserve one), good tour group offering Con: Not too many restaurant near hotel, only one convenience store, charge $29 for 24 hrs Internet, no wifi.

Good hotel excellent location. Fantastic hotel pool/lagoon with wet bar, right on the Esplanade near the Cairns Base Hospital. Friendly & helpful staff ensured a good stay.

The hotel has a great Esplanade location overlooking the ocean, the rooms are very clean and well presented, the staff are very helpful and attentive. This was our 6th stay and we'll definately be back.

Dangerous broken electrical switch in bathroom, generally run down and some mould. Wanted to use the guest BBQ and was a high charge but had no gas anyway! Was close to the esplanade, but wouldn't recommend it to anyone. A particular concierge was rude and mislabeled our luggage.

Good location for a 2-3 day stay in Cairns. easy walk to esplande & ferry wharf. good service.

we had the best stay at The Rydges Esplanade Cairns, get up there and get some sun now! We will be back!

we loved our stay specially the seafood meals and the pool many thanks

hotel had stains on most carpets , i felt it was overpriced and at the very least was a 3 star

Very nice hotel situated a 15 - 20 minute walk from middle of town. Clean and comfortable and staff are very helpful. Polite efficient staff, friendly, and co-operative.

The room we had was nice and spacious with a 'killer' view of the water. Hotel was nice and clean and located a small distance from the main restaurant / party areas of town which was great at night when you needed to sleep. My only real complaint was the comfort of the bed. My mattress was SO soft (it felt like an old piece of foam) that after waking […] from my first nights sleep with terrible neck ache, I dragged the mattress off the base and onto the floor every night just to make the mattress firmer and less saggy. It's hard to leave the hotel with access to the spa, pool, gym, sauna and THE BEST all you can eat seafood buffet i have EVER had! The hotel offers fantastic discounts if you dine in making it very hard to explore the fantastic city! I loved this hotel. It was beautiful and most of the staff were pleasant. The only problem I saw was that the carpets in the main corridors coming out of the lifts on each floor were all stained. ..... it was good except we have a 3hr delayed by Tiger Airline from Melbourne to Cairns our stay with Rydges Esplanade was ok, good staff, food just ok, service very good minor complained was there was a red spot on one of the bed cover spa very good pool never tried

every thing was very good and all the hotel staff very helpful

I was expecting a 4 star rydges hotel. The room was very dated and the bedspread was all pilled and I thought it looked dirty but it was just the pattern on it and the pilling. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The negative experiences were that bad for me to stay here again or to recommend it to others. Even though there are quite some positive points to this holiday. Those points are not unique to this hotel only, so that is why i wouldn't recommend it. The bad: - Lady at reception wasn't customer friendly when we were asking and showing that we would like […] to get in our room as quickly as possible. Even after the official check-in time she didn't check if the room was available while we're waiting with our baby in the lobby in visible range to her and the reception desk. It wasn't busy at the reception desk that whole period. We had to proactively ask and hear from another person at the reception desk that the room was already available... :-( - Bed was way too soft (old), it felt like the matrasses should have been replaced 5 years ago. No support at all - When checking out the reception wasn't aware that the hotel night was already paid for, so there was confusion. After checking some other people it was cleared out. Good hotel, great value for money. Very relaxing around the pool. Just far enough out of the noisy area of town to completely relax.

I was very pleased with the Resort. The staff were very helpful and always had a smile on their face. The staff at the bar and in the restuarant were very pleasant. The only problem I found in the room was that the shower rose wasn't very good it had no flow of water in the middle which made washing your hair rather difficult . From the moment I stepped foot into the hotel till the moment I departed, the staff were most helpful and friendly. There was always someone around to assist and answer questions. I would recommend this hotel if you like the full ocean view from your room instead of the Marina view you'll find further down in Cairns central water front hotels. I also like the fact that this hotel is a little outside the hustle and bustle of the city center. It's about a 20 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants, which I really enjoyed walking […] along the Esplanade. They do have a free shuttle that takes you down to the CBD from 3pm until 9pm. The pool is nice for a swim and it is very relaxing. You can rent bicycles from the lobby which we did and liked. The tv's are small and old, and ours didn't really work. It would turn on only if it felt like it, and you couldn't change channels. When trying to get help with the tv, I was told it works fine. Very satisfied that the hotel was in walking distance to the city. Very pleasant staff. Only complaint televisions should be updated.

We found the staff receptive and helpful during our 4 day stay. They immediately addressed our concerns and requests. Housekeeping was sporadic as carpets were not vacumed and towels were not replaced..Overall, we were pleased with the hotel and would consider this facility for future travel.

Room was very plain, beds need to be replaced. Service was fine. Only stayed overnight--convenient to airport.

We were pleased with the hotel - the room, service , location. However, guests have to pay for items which should be basic such as internet , payment by credit card.

On our third day of staying at this hotel we returned to our room to find that our room keys did not work. All of our belongings were locked in our room and we no longer had access. We waited in line at the front counter to find out that they switched our rooms. We were never told that they were going to make us change rooms and just turned off our […] keys. They told us that they did not have any other rooms that were equal to our room. The moved us to a much crappier room. We asked for a discount so because we were paying for a ocean view and we no longer had an ocean view. Than they moved us to another room that was still not as nice as our first room. Apparently someone more important than us wanted our first room and they gave it to them while bumping us out of it without ever telling us it was going to happen.
