Friendly staff perfect hotel for overnight stay prior to Anguilla or St. Barts vacation. Short Taxi to SXM airport ( $ 12.00 US + tip). Hotel restaurant or local eatery / bar, otherwise short taxi to casino or more formal restaurants.

"deluxe"water view, wasn't. A/C on timer and not cool enough.Only l key.Pressed to have 2nd. Handyman went to copy & never got it.Asked for3rd set of towels, front desk kept forgetting. VERY BAD experience.

It was a bit odd that you had to sign out: A) the remote for your tv, B) Ethernet cable, and C) a towel. But overall, the room was pretty nice. More pillows in the closet, and the hot water works. Oh, and you have your own personal patio with table and chair. Get a water side view if you can, hah.

This is a million dollar location, but needs a million spent on it too. Rooms were fairly comfortable, but AC had taped wires hanging down in closet, bathroom cabinets were broken chipboard, got shock off one light, and the worst thing was that when you go out at night, there is no way to stop people from looking in the room. The front door is all glass, […] with no roll down shade. When you are inside you can pull the window curtain over it, but not when you go out. The bartender did not know how to make a bloody mary, and the food at the restaurant, well let's just say, eat there at your own risk, it was really really awful. And it is too bad because the view is amazing, you look out over Simpson bay from the dining and bar area. There was only one other table occupied, so I guess the word has already gone around. The rooms have a little kitchenette, so you can buy your own food and cook there (no oven but burners & microwave). It is a shame to see such potential. When we pulled up in the parking lot, my son said "this is a resort?!" No, it is not, but if you have an AUC student, it is only 3 minute walk from campus, and is safe and convenient. Summit Resort Hotel was a perfect choice. It is a 10 minute ($10) taxi ride from the airport, and it is located in a developing area of luxury condos near some of the nicest beaches on the island. Philipsburg and Marigot are easily and inexpensively accessible by buses (which are not crowded by Caribbean standards). The staff, and particularly the receptionists, […] are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and are generally well cleaned. The mirror in the bathroom was not spotless, but the bathroom was very clean overall. The bathtub/shower has a configuration problem, in that the faucet is on the side next to the toilet, so that one has to reach over the toilet to turn on the water, and then move the doors and hop in the other side. There are some very minor signs of aging, such as scuffs and wall dings, but that is absolutely it. The rooms are otherwise in excellent condition, and they are fully stocked with kitchen utensils and appliances, including a stovetop, a microwave, a refrigerator, a toaster, a blender, and a free room safe. The room is fully furnished with a kitchen table and chairs, and a living room with futon/couch, coffee table, and end tables. The king size bed was spotless, clean, and very comfortable. The pillows were fully fluffy and not in the least bit clumpy. They seemed to be new. Outside the room, there is a nice porch, with a table and two chairs. There is a view of the bay from the porch. The hotel has a large, clean swimming pool and a restaurant, but the food is pricey, although excellent . (The portions seem to be smaller than they should be.) The Wifi access was not working on the first and second day there. The water was not working on the second morning. It was clean, but it needs work. The food at the local pool side cafe was good.

I was on a business trip when I stayed for four nights in the offseason. There was much renovation going on but it was not noisy. Places in the lower price range tend to have pluses and minuses. Reception and staff were very helpful. My room was clean. It had a large kitchenette with full size fridge, DW, and everything you would require should you want to cook. A good daily newspaper is free and available daily (except Sunday). There is free high speed in room internet connected to your computer via cable supplied (skype did not work). The bed was fine, the bathroom adequate but the shower only passable. Security was good. As to minuses: Having a car is best as there are few activities nearby. The French side (Marigot) is a ten minute drive. The TV is old but functional (many channels). Requested a replacement telephone but it still did not work well. Room lock was difficult to operate. The place looked like a war zone with cracked concrete everywhere. Perhaps they replaced the luscious foliage with it for a more art deco look. It didn't work. The onsite poolside restaurant had been closed for months according to a maid that checked us in. After unloading all the luggage, we found we had no water! I complained and they agreed that […] indeed the resort had no water. Told us the entire island had no water (a lie) and could not tell us when it would come back on. The resort connected me with someone of authority that was extremely sarcastic and suggested he would build me my own water plant. Unbelievable! At this point, it was about 8pm, I had no option but to stay the night. In the morning the water had returned. For the money it was not bad. The grounds were nothing great but the pool area was Ok. The romm was clean, a little out dated. Its locacated on the what we considered the better part of the island on the Dutch side near the air port. A lot of resturants close by and 2 casinos. There are 3 beaches in the area, one is nude. Surprisingly, it was more of a private and serene villa than a hotel room. The room contained a kitchenette with pretty much anything you might need to cook. It was large and roomy for 3-4 people. Everyone was friendly, efficient check-in and out, and free internet. It was somewhat off the beaten path, yet an easy 10-15 minute walk to both Cupecoy and […] Mullet Bay beaches. Localização excelente, próximo ao Atlantis Casino e não longe de Maho Beach. Café da manhã (cobrado à aprte) à beira da piscina, com vista excelente.
