Very attentive staff, gave me an immediate upgrade from single to double without being asked. Excellent service for a very tired business man, good food in room service and very attentive waiters in the breakfast room. What more could one ask for? Thank you ...........

The hotel is perfectly situated for Bournemouth events such as the one we had booked to see - the BSO Jubilee concert. The hotel service, food and particularly the breakfast is 4-star. Unfortunately the rooms, though clean and comfortable are only 3-star. But it's great for a weekend break.

My parents stayed at the Royal Exeter (a wedding anniversary present) and tell me they loved it. They found the staff very helpful and the room fitted their needs a treat (mum has trouble getting around so the hotel put them in an easily accessible room). The hotel is in a great location, opposite the BIC and a stones' throw from the beach.

From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we were given was a family room and as this was our Anniversary we asked for a Double room - this was immediately sorted out. Breakfast was delicious and the service was excellent. Great hotel, comfy bed, good value and the food in the restaurant was fab and great value too! I would definately stay at the Royal Exeter again and would recommend to friends and family.

We stayed for one night whilst going the the bic to see olly murs it's just across the road so it was fantastic. We had a family room and where lucky enough to have 3 beds a double and 2 singles as i was with my 2 girls so we each had a bed. The rooms are huge and great views lovely large bathroom too. but....our room was above the bar and it was very LOUD until 3am. Rooms otherwise very comfortable - just a shame we couldn't sleep. I think guests should be warned that there could be noise from the bar so that they can decide whether or not to book. Breakfast was lovely - the hotel is lovely. Just a shame about the noise from the very busy bar.

Staff were excellent and the breakfast was stunning.

Room very nice and clean. Stayed on a Friday night and was told when we booked in that the Hotel was quite full and that there could be some noise from the bar later in the evening. This is a way that the Hotel covers itself for the unbearable 'Boom Boom' from the ajoining bar/club that went on to 2.10 in the morning. This spoiled the overall stay.

Fantastic location, it had it all. Lovely room, wonderful meal in the 1812 restaurant, cocktail bar with live music 10pm-12pm then a nightclub next door with great tunes and friendly atmosphere. It ticked every box for us and we didn't have to go outside the hotel. We will definitely being coming again.

After booking this hotel we were warned that it would be noisey which was confirmed on arrival by the very pleasant staff but even though our rooms were fairly close to the nightclub we suffered absolutely no disturbance. Friendly staff, great location but the floor bit noisy it's squeaky . And u can hear the noise from the bar during the night .

we found this hotel to be the best we'd stayed in bournemouth .............come back again!!

We absolutely loved our stay and the staff were EXCELLENT. It was one of the most pleasant places I've ever had the the good fortune to stay and we could even see the sea from our room! Friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to help us. Excellent location situated close to the sea front, the Russell-Cotes Museum and other amenities. Centrally located, steps to the shore and gardens. Nice accomodations, clean, comfortable. Friendly staff. Nice restaurant for breakfast. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Nice and close to all amenienites, good size secure car park evening meal and breakfast excellent and a great cocktail bar

Upon check-in, we were warned that it can be a little noisy on a saturday night due to the popularity of the hotel bars. What they actually mean by this is that you wont get any sleep until after 2am, becuase the hotel is home to not one, but two nightclubs!! Never again! Such a shame really because the rest of the hotel is quite nice...

The Hotel is very conveniently situated across from the BIC Centre. Reception staff were excellent, cheerful and informative. Superb breakfast. Up-market version of the Bournemouth hotel. No faded grandeur here. And free wifi. Makes a change from the average business hotel.

Good points - Excellent location for beach , shops and gardens . Friendly staff . Bedroom spacious and comfortable . Free ample parking . Breakfast good . Excellent traditional hotel (complete with creaking stairs!). Breakfast was excellent and the bar was well designed and enjoyable. Free WIFI and free parking was a plus. Location opposite the Bournemouth International Centre was perfect for the conference I was attending. Didn't have dinner so cannot comment on the main food service.

Single traveller. On arrival, reception was welcoming and helpful. The room was fresh and clean. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the beach and town. The restaurant serves good food and the dining room staff were very pleasant. Great value.

Good location (opp the BIC and 5 mins walk from the pier) and front desk staff were super helpful! The rooms were ok - needs a little updating though. The beds were lovely and comfy and the room service was prompt. nice hotel, very friendly service, very service oriented. the decor in some areas was red plush, outdated. one hallway smelled of mildew but a great location and the main lounge areas were very nice. housekeeping very good, thowhen looking for the book I dropped, I did find a spoon (not mine) under the bed. This hotel is very well situated, the staff were all friendly and helpful. There are 2 excellent bars on site which were well staffed inside and outside. Our room was large and clean and the food was very good. Best place I've stay in for a while and a good room rate.

We have stayed at the Royal Exeter on previous occasions and found that the hotel had maintained its good standard of accommodation. The real downside was the breakfast on the second morning which was poor. The hot breakfast was brought whilst we were still eating our fruit and when we had finished, the same food was brought back without even having […] been kept warm. The English order delivered was not what had been ordered and the kipper was mediocre. The waitress simply blamed the Chef and did not accept it was her fault. if you want to watch live music in the hotel till 12.30.pm it is good but you will also have the band noise in your room so loud it is like you are there!

Great service, friendly and professional staff. Especially liked the hotel access to 1812 bar and Bar So. Would stay again and recommend it. A very enjoyable experience. DONT use hotels.com or expedia unless you require a double room.

A lovely heritage hotel, well maintained, and with spacious rooms. Although centrally-located, the room was quiet. The bed was comfortable and shower water pressure good. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to the city centre. Breakfast was very good, but nothing special.

very impressed , paid treble what i paid at a nearby hotel and it was not as good as the Royal Exeter. great svc, great rooms and food. everyone very smiley and friendly. great breakfast too

Everything about the hotel looks perfects - good sized car part, well loked after, the interior is clean, modern and immaculate. Our bedroom was a great size, in fact, faultless. However, the party in the bar should have been our first clue, right below our room and at 11.45pm, still going strong with live DJ. It is the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed […] at which is fine if you're part of the party but not great with an early start planned. This wasn't just 'bar' noise, obviously Christmas party time. A very sweet young guy on reception did his best to find us another room with hesitation but that was a smoking room and over a different part of the hotel, more like a club so equally noisy. That said, the room was comfortable if very hot, even with the radiators turned off. Beware the showers, easy to get thrid degree burns. Would I stay there again? - if I was part of the party or not back till late, yes without hesitation but if you have an early start planned make sure the room is on the top floor. もっと読む
