I find that 3* is the lowest category of hotel that I want to stay in in Italy. This hotel was typical of an Italian 3*. Basic amenities and comfort provided, enough when you consider that you're only really in the room to sleep and shower. The staff were very polite and helpful. It's drawbacks are that it's carpetted, I much prefer tiled floors and the breakfast was not good. All the croissant/pastry was 'long life' variety, and the coffee was from a machine and tasted just like a vending machine. We only took breakfast at the hotel on the first morning! Location is good though, easy to get everywhere, just a few minutes walk to the Two Towers and Piazza Maggiore, but in a quite street. Other reviews have remaaked about noise from the bar downstairs. We were there on weekdays so didn't see it in full swing, however, I would say that it didn't seem much of an issue. The night of one of Italy's Euro 2008 matches, which they won, didn't produce much noise or partying. Also I noticed the bar has posted signs banning patrons from hanging out on the street and drinking outside after 10pm, so I think this issue is now resolved. To sum up, a basic, clean and comfortable hotel, which could benefit from new flooring, windows and bathrooms. I would stay there again as long as the price was right.
