Poor sound insulation between rooms

Very pretty setting about 25 km from Maastricht and 5 km from Aachen. Food was quite good and rooms comfortably large with balcony overlooking garden. We stayed at this hotel to visit family. We used the breakfast and had some lunch there. The hotel is one of the most beautiful ones. The rooms are standard and could use a little more personal touches. Overall recommended.

Very nice Hotel with friendly service. Rooms are very clean and comfortable.

We stayed at the Kasteel again for our trip to Spa and it lived up to all expectations. Slight problems getting through the 5 course dinner! but everything about the hotel is first class made our next hotel a chateau in France seem very ordinary.

We stayed here for the Chio Aachen equestrian festival and was very impressed, lovely hotel in wonderfull surroundings with great people.

We came for the Andre Rieu concert at the Vrijthof in Maastricht, but didn't want to stay in the city. Surrounding countryside is lovely, as are the hotel's grounds. The hotel itself is very comfortable and staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a bit expensive but there's plenty to eat and an excellent range of choice. This was a beautiful hotel in the cute city of Vaals. We had spent the day in Maastricht and wanted to stay somewhere out of the city - this was the perfect place. We had a room with a garden patio, very nice. We also had dinner at the restaurant which was beautifully presented and very delicious. Absoultely gorgeous hotel converted from a convent with two new wings on either side. Set in beautiful gardens with ample free parking. Fantastic if expensive, restaurant but 'pay peanuts get monkeys'. Only just over the Dutch border from Aachen so not VERY convenient for Maastricht although good public transport in both directions to both cities. Härligt stort hotell med slottskänsla. Mycket bra mat och underbar frukost.

Bij aankomst bleek dit een Van der Valk hotel te zijn. Het heeft er echter alles in positieve zin aangedaan om zich aan die statuts te ontrekken. Schitterend hotel, kwalitatief goed eten waaruit de ambitie bleek om zich te gaan kwalificeren voor een michelinster. Kortom we zijn heel tevreden.

L'hôtel est situé dans un cadre agréable et très tranquille. La chambre était très bien, spacieuse, de même que la salle de bains, très fonctionnelle. Le prix du petit déjeuner est un peu prohibitif, mais il en vaut la peine, tant pour la qualité du buffet que pour l'endroit dans lequel il est servi.

Het kasteel zag er op het plaatje prachtig uit; wij schrokken dan ook toen op ongeveer een paar meter afstand een soort van vinex wijk bleek opgetrokken.. ook achter het kasteel bleek er druk gebouwd te zijn.. het was dus niet een kasteel dat oprees uit een prachtige omgeving zoals je dat vaak ziet. Dit was een kasteel dat midden in een woonwijk stond. […] Heel raar. Verder kreeg ik de volgende dag tijdens de lunch een omelet dat koud was. Niets zo vies als koud eigeel te moeten eten, dus dat ging terug naar de keuken. Mijn man vroeg om melk en hij kreeg lang houdbare melk ipv verse melk. Ze hebben het niet op de rekening gezet, maar we hadden achteraf toch spijt dat we in het kasteel geluncht hadden want in het zuiden kun je heerlijk bourgondisch eten.
