"Great location"

"Fantastic Location"

"Mantra Lorne Disappointment"
The hotel has an excellent location and I like that the room refrigerator did not have a mini-bar, however, the hotel takes guests for granted. Car parking is insufficient for the number of rooms with some rooms having designated spaces, but, others having to fight for what is available, which diminishes with functions. The hotel charges premium rates. […] The key we were supplied upon check-in was for a one bedroom suite. We were delighted, except that it was an error and we were then shuffled to a regular hotel room. Our first floor room overlooked the Function centre and car park and was right next to the lift shaft and above the lift mechanism room. The first time we heard the lift we wondered what the hell the noise was. The function centre was used on both nights of our stay which meant we were awoken during both nights. Our room was not serviced and clearly, ours was not the only room treated thus as we observed staff supplying towells to other rooms within the complex. "Many Rooms Not Suitable for Relaxing."
The "Resort" rooms have neither soft chairs nor a sofa. Patrons must sit on hard kitchen chairs ... or the bed. Thus spending extended time in the room is uncomfortable, a drawback that over-rides the otherwise acceptable layout and condition of the rooms. The matter, when mentioned to Reception, elicited the comment that only two- or three- bedroom […] units have comfortable seating. It was necessary to park in a designated spot a long way from the room. Some rooms have that designated spot close-by, but many require a long, open air walk from car to room. Our 2brm family suite was located on the ground floor. This was great for us as the kids could head to play tennis or kick the football on the grass and we could watch them without leaving the couch! "Parking a huge problem"
Some hotel rooms and suites have allocated parking. Others do not, meaning you have to hunt for a park in the unallocated parking areas in the hotel grounds or in the streets outside the hotel. We were not provided allocated parking when we stayed at the hotel. This means that if you stay at the hotel during a busy period, during summer or when there […] is a public event you might have to park kilometers from the hotel or in a restricted parking zone, having to move your car every two hours to avoid getting a parking ticket. This is what happened to us. It also means that if you do not have an allocated park, unpacking from your car or repacking is a difficult process. "Great location but very poor housekeeping"
The only complaint I have about this hotel is, that despite the website claiming the heritage rooms are serviced daily, this was not the case. The room was not cleaned at all whilst we stayed there for the four days over Easter. Only the beds were made and that was only once. It is disappointing to return to a room with unmade beds and in need of a […] clean. Tea/coffee and other supplies were not replenished during our stay, only the UHT milk was replaced. "Nice Location, tired hotel"
Car parking was very inconvenient, as it was so far away from our room. The actual building, the Princess Louise, was run down and grubby . The stairs were filthy. The rooms were ok. Our room was spacious, mainly because there was furniture missing! Don,t stay here! we booked a 2 bed apartment and what they provide is a 1 bed apartment with lounge and kitchen with an adjoined 1 bed apartment. you enter through 1 door but then there,s 2 separate doors to each apartment, would not be ideal with small children. the first apartment they gave us had that much mould on shower tiles i wondered if it had […] ever been cleaned! we complained and were given another apartment, thou the staff were not that concerned that we had complained. the next apartment faired little better. the bathroom was cleaner thou the amount of hair in the plug holes was beyond belief. the cups in the kitchen were stained and 1 looked as thou it had been used and put straight back in cupboard. there was dust and dirt in the corners of the rooms particually behind TV. the furniture was dated and stained, no effort had clearly been made to try and clean that either. we even found a toe nail clipping on the lounge carpet! the only clean part of the apartment appeared to be the bedding. when we left in the morning, taking some of the dirt findings to reception, the only answer they could give was that they used outside cleaning company! Obviously no staff from the hotel checks on what they do or don,t care as it was plain to see the filth.
