Very clean and quiet atmosphere although it is located along the high-way. Walking distance to the bridge and biggest antique shop in the area which was the favourite of my wife. The hotel will be the one to stay when I shall return.

"best location for down town stay"
From the time we checked in until checkout the service from the staff at the front desk valet parking and bar tender was great. "Right in the middle of downtown"
the hotel staff was courteous at all times. Once you park you car you are close to the downtown area and there is no need to move your car again til your check out. "Not Happy With Customer Service"
When we made the reservations we asked for a water view if possible. We arrived at the hotel at 11:00 am and we're told our room was ready, but the room for the couple we were traveling with was not. When we arrived to our room, the only view I had was the dumpsters below. At 4:00 pm, our traveling companions were able to check in and they got a water […] view room. They had made no special requests other than having a room near ours. When I questioned the girls at the check in desk how that could be, they had nothing to say. It's about customer service. They confirmed I had a request in, but could not give me an answer why I didn't get my request fulfilled yet clearly there had been a water view room. All they would have had to do was swap our room for our companion's room. Clearly who ever is in charge of assigning rooms was not on their A game. Plus the rates was the same for either room. After spending time in Maine with family last year, I decided to stay as a hotel patron this visit. Without a doubt, the hotel boasts the best view of the Wharf & Commercial Street over any other hotel downtown. Friendly and helpful staff. Valet parking very convenient and efficiently run. Nice to find a hotel that allows dogs, though we didn't have any! Breakfast was OK, but it would have been nice if one could have chosen the full buffet or a continental breakfast. For those only wanting a cup of coffee, juice and toast, $11:75 is a lot!! On Christmas night […] the restaurant featured a special: Roast ham, with all the accompaniments. We got back from a day out to find that most of the other items on the menu were unavailable, so we said we'd have the special. What appeared on our table was not good!! A pile of soggy yam cubes, tinned, soggy asparagus in some kind of cream and a hunk of some kind of dark brown solid mass, akin to tofu, but firmer. This was supposed to be roast ham! It was not! Goodness knows what it was. The waitress apologized, however, and we were not charged, but food like that should never see the light of day.
