i thought the hotel on the out side was nice. it looked like they were slowly up grading. but the rooms on the other hand didnt get the the total up grade there were black dust on the vents the sofa was big enough for one child and the rest of the furiture looks n felt out of date

This hotel was excellent!! Spacious room for my whole family and the beds had there own separate room:) had a kitchen in it too so if u didn't want to eat out u could cook right in your room! And the price was very reasonable:) loved my stay:)

The Hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly, however, here is what we did not like. 1 - Wireless connection did not work, 2 - Fold-out sofa bed was uncomfortable, 3 - Breakfast severed was basic cold or Instant Hot. With that all said, for $85 per night was not a bad price for a suite.

Our stay was comfortable. The only thing I really do not like about this hotel is that we were there a total of eight nights and the cleaning people did not vacumn one day that we were there. for the price we paid, it wasn't too bad. However, the room was filthy. I've never seen a hotel that dirty. The walls were nothing but black marks and dirt. While the cost of the hotel was good, when we got there, the hotel did not have the number of beds that the ad said it did. It was missing a fold out couch. The one fold out couch it had was broken beyond being usable. The hotel also had no extra bedding for the fold out couch, even if it had worked. Our room was spotless and had a Sanitation grade of 99.5. To those of you not familiar with that......in NC and SC businesses are rated by the health dept. and the rating of 92-100 is an A. The ratings are framed and must be posted in plain sight and their's was on the wall at the desk......Perfect. We will stay there again on our next visit!

Very nice and clean, and a very good price too... We compare hotels and prices and this one was the best for the price and room size.... One Room with 2 Beds....Separate area with TV, Sleeper Sofa, and full kitchen great for a family of 6...many Restaurant Around and Only 10 min to the Beach .I would definitely would stay here again......

Upon check-in, we discovered vomit on the floor of the elevator. The "non-smoking" hall was filled with cigarrette smoke. The foldout sofa mattress was torn and the inerds were falling out on both sides. Then pot smoke began to seep into the room around the door from the hallway! We were traveling with our 3 young children and deemed this unacceptable. […] When we called the front desk, the desk clerk told us to take it up with the manager on monday morning. We checked in friday night! We got the attitude from the desk clerk that it wasn't her problem and she didn't really care. She never offered us another room or offered to investigate the pot smoke. We called Choice Hotels and were transferred to another property. The "pool" is across the parking lot and shared with the sleep inn next door. Only 3ft to 5ft deep. Very misleading advertising. Suite was a bit rundown looking but very clean and well kept. Suite was large and all amenities were there. Convenient location! Great restaurants in walking distance. 4 miles from quaint down town area and beaches only 5 minutes away.

We recently traveled to Wilmington with our children and our dog for a mini vacation. We booked the Mainstay because it had a small kitchen and accepted pets. The pet policy is a little misleading on this site because it simply states that pets are accepted and that there is a pet deposit. No other details were provided. When we arrived we were told […] that it would cost us an additional $$(absurd amount) NON-REFUNDABLE fee to stay with our dog. A $$(absurd amount) non-refundable fee for a two night stay with a pet who was staying in her crate was ridiculous! We were however, willing to provide a REFUNDABLE deposit upon inspection of the room at our departure. After explaining that the web-site was very vague on their pet policy they agreed to waive the fee "this one time". We were very thankful since we were vacationing on a shoe string budget and chose their hotel because of those money saving ammenities. Otherwise, the room suited our needs quite nicely. You might want to bring your own pillows though as theirs are rather small. We arrived after 3pm but our room was not available the clerk on duty however went ahead and did an upgrade for us at no extra charge we had a jr suite reserved with one bedroom and fold out couch, upgraded us at no extra charge to a 2 bedroom. Room was extremely clean, not the most comfortable beds but doable. we will definitely use them again.

This hotel was not at all as it appeared on the website. The room itself had been cleaned, but it was musty and dingy. We asked for a non-smoking room but it smelled of stale smoke.
