We thought the pool area/chairs were too tight. We spent no time at the pool. Not enough chairs on the beach - just wanted to relax and felt like we couldn't until we staked out a chair. Nice place to stay. I rank this hotel a solid 4 stars. Rooms were clean and ready prior to my arrival and that allowed me an early check in. Appreciated that. Even got the type of bed we requested ( king size ). Recommend upgrading to Ocean View room. Restaurants well kept. Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful ( but then again i tipped them ). […] Beach well groomed and maintained. We arrived end of January. Ocean water a little rough and cold for this time of year, but refreshing once you got in and "stayed in". Temps in the upper 70's. Everyday it was cloudy at some point, if not all day. Probably wont go back to Mexico in January, likely wait till March or later the next time. I tan easily and usually use a 15 or 20 SPF in the U.S. After a number of trips to Mexico, I learned that 45-50 SPF is perfect for the first 4-5 days, then use a 30 SPF on my last 2. Great tan, and have never burned with that approach. Remember, your close to the equator. Lots of people on the beach were burned. Ouch. Not much to do onsite, but taxis or buses easily accessible and markets, malls, golf, etc within 5-10 mile radius. Might consider carrying extra cash. Exchange rate at hotel and vendors of Peso to USD is not comparable to the going exchange rate. I'm an Omni Loyalty customer, so I got free WiFi for my laptop and cell phones. At check in, had to tell the clerk that and provide my loyalty number. Otherwise, i would've had to pay extra for those services. もっと読む

Friendly and helpful staff in the restaurants and inside the hotel, however pool staff were slow and not very helpful. The hotel is a bit out of date, and I wish there was an outside lounging area as the indoor bar is rather dark.

We had a great time and my husband and I agree that Omni is our favorite Cancun all-inclusive so far. Definitely the best service ever received at an all-inclusive. Not just because we tipped, either. (We do tip, though -- nothing major, but come on). I appreciated that ALL staff were welcoming (front desk was helpful, fast; bell boy nice, made specific suggestions and gave directions for lunch/meal when we got settled at odd hour; server at the buffet suggested, "Be sure to try the such and such", etc). Attentive staff by the pool to bring drinks. Bartenders quick and friendly. Food variety was great. Buffet was not huge, but lots of other options - kids ate sushi for lunch every day. I was partial to the taco hut. Good variety of things to do with activities, but not super rowdy. My kids did spend some time in the kids club -- staff there was super nice and attentive to them; the kids club is small-ish compared to Crowne Paradise but wasnt crowded. Beach was beautiful. Didn't have to get up way early to put your towel on chair by the pool (not sure about beach - seemed to be plenty tho). Favorite dinner spot was Deva down on the beach -- whole family agreed. I have given the hotel an overall 4 star rating for a reason other than the usual responses to common questions. This I will explain below. First, the pluses and they are big. The room was big with two beds and a crib. The room was meticulously clean and kept this way from the time check-in to check-out. The staff is the friendliest we have ever found, we have received, like all other customers, excellent service. No one can ask for a better service. The food was rich, a large selection of everything, and includes always a variery of choices for different types of customers. And for those who like desserts there are always freshly baked desserts, and a variety to choose from. The reason for giving the hotel a four star rating, and not five, is the nagging minus that will haunt anybody vacationing in Mexico almost everywhere. They have something akin to time share that they sell right in the lobby. I can't tell you what it is because it remains like a mystery. The reason we came in touch with that is that the guy sitting in front of the reception area had a sign suggesting he is selling tickets to Xcaret (eco-park).
