This is a great location for a family who wants to be able to cook and keep their own food. However, you may want to take some sanitize wipes to wipe down the counters, tables and toilet. I am usually VERY picky about room cleanliness, but it took me about 5 minutes to wipe down and it was worth it for the price we paid for this room. This is an extended stay hotel, but they don't provide shampoo...just wish they did.

This is a high priced Motel 6. The toilet seat was marred up. The entire Hotel smelled of stale cigarette smoke. The bed was hard as a rock. There was no shampoo or conditioner for the shower. The room was a clean as it could be but I could not get over the smell.

The fire alarm was pulled by vandals at 2:30 am and they sprayed the fire extinguisher on the hallway. Not funny and disrupted sleep for the rest of the morning!

we have stay before in this hotel and that why we book this again the hotel is going under construction and that okay with me. but staying in a room which isnt finish of is not okay: smell of glue, paint, parts missing and the worse pillows ever

good space for the price- cooked own breakfast. The bedding was not adequate, there was some tearing in blankets. very close to Lego Land and close enough to Safari Park.

The hotel was clean and we liked the kitchenette. It is close to downtown. The bed was pretty hard, but other than that, the stay was enjoyable.

Got this room at a fraction of the price! Had a great location, running distance to the beach. A grocery store was literally across the way if you choose to eat in. Will stay again if in the area.....

Got there before 3pm to check-in lady wasn't very nice,welcoming or informative. Stayed for two nights. First night was rough with all the commotion and loud noise from the kids above us til 1am. Don't get any type of room service after 11pm. Blankets were filthy don't know if they were ever cleaned. The refrigerators apparently leak water once a month […] as I was told by the lady from the front desk. As advertised, this is a two star hotel. which is what I paid for. It certainly was clean and everything worked just fine. We had two rooms. The west facing room looked at the pool and had a breeze off of the ocean. It was very nice. The east facing room looked at a hedge that separated the parking lot from the I-5 freeway. This hotel is in walking distance to restaurants, shops, the beach and conveniently is affordable. You have the flexibility to eat out, or cook your own meal with a shopping centre just across the road. If you can ask for a room that isn't on the freeway side, it would prob be better, however the room windows are double glass so blocks out alot of the […] noise. The front desk service was great. Beds were HORRIBLE and HARD AS A ROCK. Rooms smelled of smoke and mildew. No roll away beds available. Yucky bedding and bedspreads. No amenities or shampoo/soap/etc. Plus is that it was cheap & near Legoland and downtown Carlsbad for great dining. Would never stay here again though...

This hotel had comfortable beds, a really nice pool, and a clean room with new carpets. It's not too far from Lego Land. I believe it was less than 10 miles. It also has a stove, fridge, dishes, and everything else you need for a short or long stay. My family enjoyed it very much. **family from Soldtona, Alaska

This was a budget stay in a self-catering hotel while visiting family. It was lovely to have the kitchen. Carlsbad Village (cute shops and cafes) and the ocean were within walking distance. Our toliet leaked from the base and water was leaking onto the bathroom floor. Did not include little shampoo, conditioner and lotion, which every hotel i have stayed at includes. Had a kitchen in the room but only included a tiny amount of dish soap, not enough to wash my baby's bottles that needed to be cleaned. Only had 1 coffee cup for my husband […] and I. We were traveling with our 2 young children and chose a non smoking room but when we stepped off the elevator we could smell cigarette smoke and the room right across from ours the guy had his door wide open smoking! what's the purpose of having a non smoking room when your on a smoking floor? The hotel was very peaceful and in a safe neighborhood. Easy fwy access. Very comfortable for children . I would not recommend it if one had infants toddlers etc because the carpet was dirty. Ok for older kids. That was the only thing that i rated poorley. Other than that the price was great and the overall stay was great!

Mistakenly booked into smoking room - awful. They were unable to change our room until next day. Staff was kind enough, not their fault. Even though room looked clean, smelled dirty. Sorry.

The Sink in the bathroom are clog, including the bathtub. The tv is not working properly.

Hotel is located near a lot of good restaurants and shops. It's a great location if you are visiting there is a lot to do. The room was outdated and not very clean. It seemed as it is only cleaned on the surface and without detail. If rooms were plush and clean you would have the whole package!

If you are going to go out to one of the many bars in Carlsbad and are looking for a place to crash afterwards this is perfect. Right at the end of the street from Sullivans. It's a 2 star hotel so you get what you're expecting. Nice staff, even called room to make sure all was OK

The hotel is great, the room is spacious, the staff is friendly and the bed is carved from the side of a mountain. It's as though you're sleeping on the ground, but with nice sheets. Everything else about this hotel is great for a stay in Carlsbad. It's 15 minutes walk from the beach, and less to all the wonderful shops and restaurants. It's just that […] the bed has all the comfort of sleeping on your refrigerator. Sadly, despite our 1-2 trips per year into the city, we won't be coming back to what is otherwise a great hotel, unless for some reason we feel the need to use a surface that is hard enough to land a helicopter on. We booked this an hour after we decided to head to Carlsbad for a night of bar hopping. Looking for something inexpensive to lay our heads down, for a few hrs. This was more than we asked for in price so not the Ritz but very comfortable for the price. Pleased

While I was very thankful to have gotten this room on such short notice, I wasn't exactly impressed with the upkeep on the rooms. Everything was fairly clean, which is good, but it was also very run down. I was in a handicapped accessible room, which was fun, except that the shower made it impossible not to completely soak everything else in the bathroom. […] It was also sketchy as to the cleanliness. Nothing specifically bad, and maybe better for extended stays, as its name indicates. For short term, a more standard low-end hotel would probably be a better deal.

We arrived at this place in the middle of the night and we were given a smoking room when our reservation was for a non-smoking room. The room was disgusting, dirty bedspreads, stained curtains, boxsprings on beds were coming apart, ripped open on the sides, carpet was dirty and the rooms had awful odor. We were completely satisfied with the service we received from the Front Desk staff. They were friendly, helpful and genuinely wanted to assist us. For being a smoking roo, the room was clean and without smells. The one and ONLY complaint we had was that the mattress was extremely hard.
