The hojo was very clean and must better room than I expected. I went slight to sleep and I never heard a thing.

I was actually expeting less clean, and less friendly staff, but I guess I was wrong. Next to a gas station and the rail roads, but I guess we were so tired that we didn't hear anything

the staff at the Galveston location was exceptional. The beds and pillows were great. The location turned out to be good once I discoverd it was easier to comute down harborside dr. rather than broadway. My only complaint was that the toilet would not stop running, so I turned the valve off at night so that it would not keep me awake.

1.The floor carpet need to be steamcleaned. I only found that out when I walked on it without shoes. 2. There is no electrical socket by the reading table to connect laptop or other things. Although I was provided with a surf extension.

clean rooms. friendly staff. quiet. has a shuttle availble to the cruise terminal.

WAS NOT I EXPECTED. A BAD LOCATION AND NOT CLOSE TO ANY ACTIVITIES THAT ARE IN THE CITY.

If you can stand the sound of the train that goes right behind the hotel and the semi truck airbrakes from the convenience store in front of the hotel, then it is a nice place to stay. Our tub spout leaked water the whole time we were there. When I turned the water on it was orange and stayed that way a long time. I went to the manager and told him about it and he said he already knew it. I asked him to do something about it because the running water would keep us up that night and he told me to just close the bathroom door.

the shuttle taking us to the ship was not a problem but when it came time to pick us up on Sunday the porter dumped our luggage on the sidewalk at the "red flag" and said the shuttle would have to pick us up there ----the problem was the shuttle wasn't allowed there so we had to tip ANOTHER porter to get our luggage to the taxi so we could go back to […] Howard Johnson's and get our car (tips and taxi cost $30). I think we should have been told up front that the shuttle would not be able to pick us up at the end of our cruise. the management was outstanding. my wife and i found all of the sites from this hotel very convinient. we will stay again when we go to galveston. thank you.

It is far from Galveston Seawall Blv. yet though service was good. Hotel Manager was friendly. But the price I had to pay was not appropriate for that location & condition.

First of all I did not choose this hotel nor would I have stayed here if it wasn't for the party I was with who chosed it. The clerk was so rude & obnoxious!! I asked for extra towels & he gave me this lecture of putting the Do not disturb sign & it being there as to why I didn't get any towels. I put it there bc I don't want anyone snooping around […] my luggage. It took him a long time to finally give it to me after discussing the DND sign. When we checked in there was a clerk outside the ice machines that was broken by the way that kept looking our way & it felt like we were being watched & followed to the hotel room. He tried playing it off after I noticed but seriously that was creepy!! This hotel was the worst ever!! The sheets were not cleaned & the towels were soo rough!! Don't stay here please!! needs many improvements out side, looks old, rundown. not close to beach, employees cant assist with alot of information about area. train tracks behind hotel truck stop on the side. noisy, even observed roaches(went and bought bug spray). will never stay there again. research before you stay. rooms expensive.

The hotel is next to a rail road truck, three times during the night you can hear the train, and they ronk the horn right in front of the hotel. I would never stay there again.

The staff was very friendly and the hotel is close to Moody Gardens.

20 minutes from the cities attractions.the seawall and resturats were very close to.staff and management were friendly and helpfull.room was clean.enjoyed our stay.great to have fridge,microwave,and coffe pot in room espically with children.their always hungry.

The room was nice and clean. Great water presure and nice sheets and beadspreads. The pic on the website were not acurate and the managment seemed to be upset that we got a deal on the hotel room.

Hotel is surrounded by a large unattractive ditch with debris in it. room was acceptable but could be cleaner and needed repairs and updates. Staff was helpful and friendly

I spent two nights in a hotel with wet carpet. The hotel did not have a pool I could locate. I spent two mornings listening to a screaming lady and and crying child. Management was awful, my mom and sisters came in my room for five minutes to change clothes before going to the beach and I was charged extra per person plus tax for them "using the facilities." They were very rude, the breakfast was stale, and its located on the side of a train track which runs all night. Do not stay here.

the hotel is very clean and the staf very friendly, noice level is minimum and hotel property is clean and well keep.

We went to Galveston for a wedding and we went to hotels.com to find a hotel cause we are from Louisiana. Well we went to the wedding first and after the wedding we went to our hotel. Room was comfortable and clean. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Gas stations were within walking distance, and a short drive to the beach. No pool or gym. However hotel had free breakfast and WiFi. Overall comfortable hotel, although a bit pricey for what you get.

This hotel was ok for a one night stay, but I would not stay there again. The room was alright, but it smelled like smoke, and it was a 'non-smoking' room. The breakfast was also very minimal and the juice machine was broken. The manager was friendly, but a little too friendly.

Over all the place was not too bad, only a few bad things. When the maids would clean our room we were only given 1 shampoo and 1 soap when we would ask the maids for more stuff they were rude and tolds us to go to the front desk, so every day for lotion and conditioner and also more towels, became very old quick. Breakfast was horriable, very little […] selection and what they did have we had to ask for because they would run out so quick. i would not stay here again. i knew it was not on the beach.thats why it was cheeper.but i didnt know it had no pool.and it has a train coming by at all hours.it is next to the hotel. :(((

We enjoyed our stay. Room was spacious as well as comfortable. Attendandants were courteous and helpful. I would recomend The Howard Johnson Hotel.

This hotel is next to a railroad track and you can hear the trains coming and going. It is also next to a gas station/truckstop and you can hear the trucks engines running. The hotel has no pool which isn't advertised. The room really smelled when we checked in. The continental breakfast food was good though.
