Comfortable, beautifully maintained grounds/pool right on the Gulf. We loved hanging out on the veranda rocking chairs right outside our room and watching the sunset from a lounge chair on the beach. Pool area is lovely. Kayaks are great. One big problem...we had thousands of little ants, even though we stored all food in our refrigerator or microwave. […] We had to change rooms on the last day and the ant problem actually got worse, they were pouring out of the original wood frames of the doors and a warp in the vanity in the bathroom. Housekeeping was immediately there with bug sprays when alerted, but the ants came back right away. A woman staying across the road in the condos complained about roaches. Very good location and laid back atmosphere. Location is pretty and rooms are comfortable too. Our room faced the bay and sunset. Overall very good!

We booked before reading all the negative reviews because of the location and price. Husband even considered cancelling after reading. WHAT A WONDERFUL SURPRISE! The property was newly renovated, beautiful and well maintained. We stayed in the 3bed/3ba townhouse and it was like brand new. We were initially upset because we did not get the room that we were promised. The hotel and its staff made its efforts to make us happy. (Thanks!) However, otherwise, the stay was extremely enjoyable. We liked the close proximity to the water because kayaking is fun. The jacuzzi was a nice temperature, and the pool was lovely. Very enjoyable

Nice resort with recently upgraded rooms and grounds. Small kitchen in room came in handy. Several restaurants within a 15-20 minute drive. Property is waterfront with a sandy area, a short dock, and numerous lounge chairs and hammocks to enjoy. Overall, a very pleasant stay at a decent price.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our visit to the middle keys in April. The Lime Tree Bay resort is much nicer than many of the other places along the way. A room with 2 queen beds was available at a reasonable price. We took out the kayaks (which have a see-through bottom) by simply signing up at the office. The coffee was really good too.

The front desk was alittle short with people and they offer the use of their kayaks for free, but only during limited hours with advanced signup. We stayed across the street in the townhomes and they were very nice at a reasonable price. Would go their again!

Really enjoyed our stay. We were pleasantly surprised. Rooms were very well decorated and comfortable. Staff was pleasant. We had a great view of the sunset from our balcony and the pool deck. Be sure to pack food and drinks before arriving. There isn't much around for food, entertainment unless you go about 15-20 mins South or North. The only "store" […] nearby is across the street and be prepared for elevated prices ($8 for a pack of ham, for exampe). Beautifully kept grounds! Some of the rooms have been updated, however our studio had not. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the comfort that the 3br/condo gave us. Right on the canal across the street from the hotel, we were treated to manatee's swimming right up to the dock and our own pool. The hotel is right on the highway, as many are in the keys, and the road traffic was loud, but that is the only complaint

Rented a townhouse for the night. 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, full kitchen, balcony to sit outside, well-decorated. I highly recommend it.

Room was not in main building, but 1/4 mile from the office and pool. Definitely not walking distance. Room was very nice, however there was no curtain on the exterior bedroom door. I was more than appreciative of how great the Lime Tree Bay Resort was, especially for the cost. It exceeded my expectations from the moment I got there until the moment I left. Hotel was amazing! beautiful room, nice lounge area, very clean, loved my stay! Only downfall is you have to drive a few miles to eat, but your right in the middle of islamorada and marathon so you can go north or south to pick

My husband and I stayed at the Lime Tree Resort and enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly. The grounds were kept up nicely. Needs some improvement. It has a cottage feel to it. If you are looking for luxury, not the place to go. But it is a nice choice to stay over then head to Key West.

I would stay here again. We spent 5 nights in room 111 from March 7th-March 11th. When it came time to head to Ft. Lauderdale, I didn't want to go. Very relaxing resort. We booked the place on hotels.com and had a email confirmation for a waterfront room. When we arrived we were told the hotel was "overbooked" and that we were going to have to stay at a room offsite. When we showed them our confirmation. This is what the assistant manager told me very smugly "Our contract with hotels.com only states that we have to […] provide you with a room." I will say the offsite room was nice, however, it was three blocks away with no amenities and a terrible view of an ugly canal. Nice place! Windy!

Very nice atmosphere, attractive surrondings and excellent service.

We were speechless at the view we had of the sunset. This was my favorite place thus far when staying in the Keys. Rooms are modern and very nice. The resort really is quiet and private. Very nice roomy and clean, great sunset views, Lounge chairs under plam trees to watch sunset. a boat rental within walking distance(separate from hotel) only downfall was there was no resturant(closed down) and had to travel a ways to find one. Good quality resturants within 10 miles either direction.Nice pool and hot tub,friendly staff.

We stayed at the Lime Tree Bay Resort for 4 nights this past week. If you are looking fo relaxing on the bay and watching the beautiful sunsets it's a great, reasonably priced stay. Although, they do call it a resort and present with very nice accommodations, this is not really more than a hotel/motel on Route 1. But there is not a restaurant or bar or anything for 5 miles, (other than 2 overpriced convenience store across the street). staff were not helpful - not hospitable - breakfast was horrible - consisted of plastic wrapped junk food - would not recommend to anyone.

The Lime Tree Bay, I enjoyed very much the clenliness, the view was gorgeous , the groungs and rooms spotless.. only thing missing is a table in the efficiency rooms, and a dresser of some sort, but all in all , very very nice !! and quiet..

Dirty towels in one room, moved to another room to find and old sticky flashlight next to the bed, and the lady at the desk gave me nothing but excuses. Breakfast??? You're better off going to a convenience store. And they leave you the shampoo from the previous guest, so bring your own!

THE TOWNHOME WAS VERY NICE! Disappointed in the lack of beach and we have a lot of bug bites that look suspiciously like bed bug bites

The hotel grounds were fabulous. Hammocks, beautiful lounge chairs everywhere...the smell from the bay sometimes got a little rank, but that's life. The grounds were well maintained and laid out. I was very impressed. I can't say the same for the interior, though. The beds were hard as rocks. After about an hour we all had backaches and couldn't sleep. […] There were three of us in one room and when I asked for a rollaway bed, I was told that the owner had come in and decided that the rollaways did not look good in the rooms so she ordered them removed. That seemed kind of odd to me. It would seem that the convenience of my guests would be more important than what she thinks it looks like. Amenities in the room included a small fridge, coffeemaker and microwave. That was much appreciated, especially since the lobby did not open for breakfast until 8 am, which seemed a little late to me. The staff seemed nice, except for a new staff member who seemed a little flaky. while we were there trying to get checked in, she got so busy ensuring she wasn't blamed for some mistake, she just left us standing there. The veteran staff, though, picked up on it quickly and helped us. But the new staff should make an attempt not to discuss issues in front of customers. You had to travel for meals because the restaurant was under construction but that was fine. Nice restaurants within 10 to 15 min from hotel but the rest of the time is just quiet and beautiful views. Very clean and the staff was great.

Nice place and friendly staff for an older resort. I found that we ran back to Islamorada or to Marathon for dinner or other activities the two days we stayed at Lime Tree Resort.

This is a lovely and clean hotel. Rooms are comfortable and pleasant. mos of them are facing the beach and pool. Beautiful views. Only downside of this place is the staff by the reception: Very unwelcome and rude. Also there aren't any restaurants near by and difficult when you are staying for more than 2-3 days.

The Lime Tree is in Long Key - very quiet, Mellow. Rooms have a view of the bay. Bring in drinks and snacks because there is nothing close. Hotel is well maintained and clean. No beach but nice pier and pool. Enjoyed it.

Not sure if it was an unintended upgrade but our room was terrific! Wonderful oversized patio, clean, terrific kitchen and mini mart grocery right next door. I would stay a few days not just overnight - one caveat - the coffee pot must have been moldy because the coffee was undrinkable. You might want to check on that first. I give them a "pass" because […] it is the Keys and things tend to weather quickly. And, if no one reports it, how would mngt. know? Resort seemed to have been updated inside and out. What a find! Incredible views of the Gulf, relaxing tropical atmosphere, winding sidewalks, and on and on. Hammocks, lounges, grills, huts, dock, not sure what more you need. We saw probably the most beautiful sunset that can be imagined. this was the best hotel, for a very good price! we have been in hour vacation. very big nice beds and the morgen sunrice! the view is unbelivble!! defentely recemendeble!! sorry for my englisch.

Even when we returned late at night we were able to find a parking spot in the parking lot. THE FAIR *Breakfast was bagels, muffins, and coffee. THE BAD *Tiny little bathroom with no room at all to sit on the toilet. *Tiny little ants in the bathroom. *Shower water temperature up and down during shower unless you shower real early before others are up. *Lots of People smoking outside their rooms, and the smoke wafts downwind to your porch. *The toaster was slow, slow, slow. This is something they could easily upgrade if they tried to do it. I actually thought about buying them a new toaster!
