For the cheap rate, I was satisfied. The motel could use some maintenance. I had to turn on the vent/air to drown out the noise from the next room. I didn't have hot water my second morning.

was a nice hotel and i have stayed there before.. i will stay in same hotel again in the future when i come into town..

couldn't provide a cot or extra bedding. room smelled of something, maybe pets. cleaning was questionable - they left someone else's stuff in the small refrigerator. I would have been OK with paying more if they put a little more care into the service. won't return.

the rooms were confortable but the shower head wasn't on right .The door knob on the bathroom was falling off.The grout of the tile was moldy and the sink stopper was broke. To top it off it had a terriable smell through out the whole wing i stayed on

Inexpensive night stay on-route to destination in Vermont. Needs a complete re-dec and it was leaking (though fortunately not in out room!). Breakfast was limited with paper plates, cups and disposable utensils. Whilst it served a purpose and the bed was OK, we would not stay there again.

This motel needs to learn to clean the rooms. Also the LINENS. I included a detailed letter regarding this situation with some Hotel Bucks I sent in. There is no excuse for dirty linens in a room. Please contact me if you would like a detailed account of this issue.

Needed a place between Scranton & Wilkes-Barre & this is dead center. Odd smell of disinfectant & a camoflauging spice scent throughout hotel except in room, which was, as requested, a smoking room but even I was offended by the stalenes of the smell. Carpetting was filthy, worn out and buckling up in many places. Mildew on shower curtain and mold on […] baseboard tiles. Deafening heat/air unit barely hanging on wall with the electrical tape repair to the wiring very visible. Everything was worn out and pillows were about 1/2 inch thick. The motel was close to the tourist sites. It is showing its age and does need a little updating. Wall paper peeling, Light switches not working. mold in the bathroom. Trash outside the windows just things that should be fixed promptly.

This is the cheapest around the area. The outside could use some work but the room was as expected. If you are looking for decent place to stay this is it. if you are looking for something a little more high end look elsewhere but also pay more.

I think the room was cleaned but the overall condition was such that it did not feel clean or smell fresh. Wallpaper was dirty and peeling off. Rug was dingy and looked soiled. Not worth it for the money spent. Property was under renovation with no mention of this upon booking or on the website. Hallways reeked of mold/musty smell and smelled evn worse with the cheap airfreshners they used in a vain attempt to cover the smell. Gave me a real bad headache

Due to the poor condition of the hotel it should be rated zero stars.

This hotel was so rundown "renovations" that the shelves were falling off the wall. Paint peeling, carpet torn up, filthy. I understand it was cheap, but even motel 6 is clean. The hotel is obviously in a state of disarray but there is a sign at the front desk notifying guests of the situation and that they are refurbishing. We were on the second floor and the bannister was coming out from the wall. It seemed kind of dangerous for an older person or someone who would need to lean on it for support. I stay in Hotel 150 nights per year and really have low expectations. This place was dirty, unfriendly, and marginal at best. All I needed was a place to sleep for 6 hours before going to the airport. It served its purpose, but that was all. Will pay more to go somewhere else next time.

After booking employees here for a 3 night stay. I received pictures from them of how bad the place was. In their room there was a light fixture with water and mold damage all the way down the wall. My room was very filthy, the fridge was terrible and in non work condition and the smell was terrible, nothing against it, but it was that terrible Indian food (from India) smell.....

Obviously, for the price, I wasn't expecting anything luxurious. But this place was pretty nasty. The receptionist wasn't even present when I arrived; the entire hotel reeked of smoke, including our room, which was non-smoking; our bathroom (toilet seat, tub, counter) had caulk dripped all over the place from a recent (unsuccessful) "renovation." First, I do not begrudge anyone their culture, but, having sensitivites to strong smells, the first turn off was the overwhelming incense in the lobby.You could smell the incense was throughout the entire hotel. Hotel nothing to look at but bed comfortable.

The hotel is under renovation and the physical plant is in definite need. The worst thing was our room was not being renovated but the room was filthy and even when I asked the room maid the next morning to clean under the beds it wasn't done.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This was the only room available during a busy Memorial Day weekend. All that was available was the smoking room. So yes, we knew it would probably smell a little smokey. This was a smell that made us nausious. Once inside we tried to air out the room, but the screen was torn out. The room was very dirty, the carpet was coming undone, […] dust balls along the wall. And NO smoke detector. The security door to the building was also broken. There aren't enough words to describe the level of rudeness we experienced at the front desk. And this was before we even complained about the room. She had an attitude of wanting to be anywhere but there and could care less about helping customers! When we asked for her name, it took three times to get it. She knew we would complain about her. All we were able to get was her last name, Patel. We ended up going down the street to America's Best Value. They were also booked but called all around town to try to find a room for us. I visited poconos and stayed here for a night. Though the room is equipped with microwave and fridge, we thought this is one of the worst room that we stayed. It was dull, not clean and not well maintained. But definitely for the price you pay, this will be worthy.

When we arrived, lady at desk was so rude. It seems she did not want to answer us for any questions. She kept saying that she was busy. I booked two rooms. Run down with weeds one foot high.Glass windows all scratched. Scum all over bathroom tile. Dark glommy dirty hallways.Not well light.

Suited our purposes well.With two small children in tow,hotel was quiet, safe & secure.Staff went an extra mile when I had a "wardeobe malfunction" and needed a safety pin.

The ovreall experience was not what was expected for the Motel 8 Chain.... the hallways were not clean, the bathroom had a constant oder from the mold and mildue of the shower curtain... only two very thin towels... Windows were dirty, no screnes.... other room aminities were old and did not work all that well.... the arrangements of furniture was […] obscure and crowded... This hotel was nothing special, but it had a bed, tv, bathroom, and internet. The surrounding town seems like a shut down ghost town, but it is not too far from Scranton. It was a place to sleep which is really all you need sometime. The people were nice, and they accepted dogs which is what I needed.

Not a luxury hotel, but if you are looking for an inexpensive place to just sleep and the way to someplace else, this is it. The room was clean and quiet, and as close to 81 and the turnpike as you could possibly get.

When I got there at about 12:45pm, I was told by a pregnant woman that works behind the lobby desk that my room was just rented to someone else. This despite me having reserved my room about 3 weeks before. Now, if that person who got my room had reserved their room before I reserved my room, then i'd understand. Then the pregnant female that works […] at the lobby desk had an attitude problem. When I asked the male that worked with her why does she "have an attitude"? While she was on the phone with someone (a customer, etc.,) she told them to hold on then she replied to me, "sir, you have an attitude". The male who worked with her was cool to do business with and he was very helpful. I know check-in is at 2pm, but the 1st available room should go to whoever reserved it first. the remote for the tv didnt work, walked into darkness couldnt figure out what lights worked on the switch. Had smoking room and yea they always smell but this was like it never been sprayed. the bed was broken in like a 1 hour stay place
