Because of a last minute emergency, I was unable to go use my room reserved for a Sunday. Due to religious observances, I called Saturday evening to try and cancel and explain, but they would not speak to me or hear my reasoning why I could not give 24 hours notice. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and restaurant/bar were excellent (wide array of choices). The biggest disadvantage is that it is located far from a bus or train if you are wanting to commute into Basel. It is over a mile to the nearest bus stop, and close to 2 miles to the train station. Good Hotel but the restaurant is very dismal and a poor choice of food

Atlas Hotel shows up on maps, but the new name Carathotel does not. Also it is in Germany, not Basel which made getting there even more difficult. It is definitely for those who are driving. Our […] reservation was not on their radar, the lady at the desk was harried and did not handle the extra stress well. A manager looked at our reservation and cleared it up while we waited in the comfortable air conditioned lobby. The rooms, however are not air conditioned and the heat wave at the time made for difficult sleeping. The hotel is less expensive than those in Basel, Switzerland but the tradeoff is an inconveniently located hotel in the industrial part of Wahl Am Rein, Germany. No public transport and a badly organised taxi service. You need a car.

The Carat was a very nice hotel. Employees the best. The only thing we did not like, there was not a shuttle bus from the airport as promised and no way to get anywhere only by taxi , which was expensive.

A nice clean hotel with a buffet breakfast. Very reasonable in price. Internet is available but pricey. Beds are very nice if you like firm bed. Parking very reasonable ofr the Basel area.

Where to start? Well the Atlas Hotel is pleasant enough, but I wouldnt recommend it to a friend or an enemy. On arrival the gardens are unkempt and in need of weeding and lawnmowing. Bon rapport qualité/prix pour ce 4* situé à moins de 10 mn de l'aéroport de Bâle - Mulhouse. Accès très facile depuis et vers l'aéroport. Restaurant très convenable également et préparation de sacs petit déjeuner pour départ avant 6 heures. Valgte stedet som et overnatningsted på vej mod Ligurien. Herligt at stedet har åbenet længe og man kan booke ind sent, når man nu har siddet i kø på de tyske motorvej langt flere timer end beregnet. Ligge dejligt tæt på motorvejen, uden at man hører den.
