Stay was very nice. Only one small problem, hard to get any breakfast early due to 2 bus loads of students stying at hotel.

We had a lovely and relaxing stay. The rooms were neat and clean and the staff was kind and courteous. The breakfast was outstanding with plenty of variety. The hotel was conveniently located to shopping, eating, university siteseeing and expressways.

The room was a smoke room. It smelled like smoke and air-freshener. I had to wash all of my clothes when I got home. I'm a non-smoker, but because it was the last room available in an excellent location, I reserved it. My family and I stayed one night for my mother's funeral. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. They not only gave us a late checkout, but allowed us to come in even after that hour to change clothes after the funeral. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable with soft linens and various pillows types from soft to firm […] (that were actually labeled on the pillow cases.) The temperature in the room was easily adjusted to our comfort and the shower was hot and strong. The only thing that was out of sorts was the phone. The phone had buttons for wake-up calls and such that were not working. I asked the next morning about that and they said that all I had to do was hit zero for the lobby, but they would check to make sure the phones were not malfunctioning. After reading reviews of other hotels in the area, many commented on the rude behavior of the front desk staff. So, I was nervous checking in and what a surprise! Have been going to Chapel Hill for 6 years now-beginning with a college visit and continuing with post-grad activities. This is the first hotel we check every time. Staff is wonderful (Go Darius!) and the rooms always comfortable and clean. Great location too.

Front desk clerk was very helpful and recommended the perfect restaurant near UNC's campus, where we really could experience the school spirit and eat good food that was reasonably priced. Rooms were large and comfortable. Complementary breakfast offered everything; it was quite an amazing and impressive spread. Ice makers were convenient. Good location if you want to visit locally or overnight while traveling and need a place to stay close to 40. Breakfast basics tasted good. I did Mott care for hot items aside from pancakes.

Our only complaint was that we drove by the entrance, even with the GPS lady yelling at us! The shrubbery is nice, but it obscures the hotel, and the driveway it shares with the Hampton Inn is marked only with the sign for the Hampton Inn. All in all, however, we were glad we found it. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk staff was very patient with me and provided driving directions to my destinations. The hotel shuttle to Chapel Hill was very convenient.

If you need a pool to work out, not a good choice as the pool is next door at Hampton Inn. Breakfast is only adequate but rooms, beds, etc. were comfortable.

We first stayed at this HIE when our daughter was looking at colleges during a visit to UNC. She is a senior now and we check this hotel first to see if rooms are available. The hotel was well maintained.It was clean and the room was great The staff was awesome.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very clean and having a refrigerator and microwave was a nice feature. The availability of a computer and printer was handy especially in printing out boarding passes! It would have been nice to have had a microwave in the dining area so that my instant oatmeal would have been actually cooked rather than just mixed […] with hot water. Overall, the room was acceptable; however, the desk clerk gave another guest an access card to our room allowing the guest to walk right in. If I had been a single female, this would certainly create real safety issues; there was only an apology, no offer to discount the room or make any other accomodation. The vending machine on our floor was out of […] order; there was no diet soda available in any of the other 3 vending machines on other floors, and the towels were scratchy. I intend to stay at Holiday Inn Express for all my future vacations as far as possible. This hotel was clean, staff friendly and helpful, and their complimentary breakfast was among the best I have had.

My only criticism was that they had new carpets that had an odor. There was no way to open the windows to air out the room. Other than that, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was awesome, the towels were thick and soft. Very nice.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Exp, Chapel Hill to visit a relative at UNC Hospital, the location was great because we were new to the area. The room was clean and we were very happy it wasn't smokey. At the time I stayed here, there was extensive remodeling in the hall outside my room. This may mean upgrades for future visitors, but for me, it meant chemical smells assaulting my nose when I stepped out of the room. The "non-smoking" room I reserved smelled like cigarettes. This is not recommended for anyone with significant allergies.

Very nice hotel. Comfortable and clean with a friendly hotel staff and a good continental breakfast. Only concern is the small slow elevator.

The hotel was an excellent stay and the room was extremely clean and the location is very convenient.The bathroom was immaculate. We plan on staying there again.

The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom had tile floors and was very large. The breakfast area in the lobby was small but had a good assortment of food and drinks. Overall, especially for them price, it was an excellent place to stay.
