The hotel staff were friendly and efficient the hotel was relatively clean and the stay was great no complaints...

The only thing that was nice about this hotel was the location. if you don't care about noise then this is the perfect stay. Our room walls were paper thin an we could hear everything... and we weren't even facing Banff Avenue.

Mount Royal is located in a great spot in Banff. The room was historic and cute! I love the old building and feel of the hotel. It was great!

Had a lovely stay over Christmas. The hotel is very charming, especially as we stayed in the older part -- reminiscent of more elegant times past. The walls are solid, so we had nights of great sleep without earplugs. The hotel was in an excellent location, but the room was so small and the apparently "Queen-size" bed was smaller than our double at home.

Hotel was amazing, staff were friendly and accommodating for our needs. They kept the hot tub open later for us one night. Location was amazing close to everything and easy to get out of town to the hills. Only thing was the main light in our room didn't' work, we said something and it didn't get fixed but there were plenty of other lights int he room […] so it was no big deal. Be sure to ask to have your room in the main area or else you'll be trekking a block with all your gear!

the room was very clean ,the only complaint i have was there wasn't a refrigerator in the room. You would think with the cost of the room there could have and should have been a small refrigerator in the room....

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The fan in the room was loud but could easily be turned off periodically. Close to everything in Banff and good bang for your buck!

I would come again given the price and location. However, I was unhappy about our room location. Near the laundry and ice machine. Super loud and distracting. King sized beds were very comfy.

Hotel better than described, our room was good suite

Hotel is older, not concrete floors so you will here people walking and doors closing. It is located close to everything. The taps in the bathroom were old and could not adjust to warm, only from hot to cold. But price good.

For our short stay, it was comfortable, perfectly located, and very keenly priced.

The room we were allocated was probably the smallest one in the hotel, it was also located next to the ice machine which was very loud once used - the noise and vibration came through the wall. We alway head to banff for our anniversary and stay at the Mount Royal. Every time we stay we are not disapointed. The staff are friendly, the rooms are very clean and very comfortable!!! The only thing is that we had asked for a king bed but because there was no more available we received 2 queens. I just wish that I would have been notified of that […] earlier so that I may changed our reservation to one queen , making the 2 queens available for larger parties!!! all in all a very nice place to stay in Banff!! My wife and I have recently stayed at Mount Royal Hotel located downtown Banff. The beds were slanted one way there fore we did not get a good sleep. The building is an older building and needs more maitnance but its not being kept up. We were also woken up by smokers outside as the building isnot very sound proof. Excellent service, allow pets, very accomadating staff and close to everything!

Although Banff is small and every hotel is essentially in a decent location, I feel this one is in the best spot. It is right smack dab downtown. Everything is right there that you need. Parking might be an issue in peak season but in Fall there were no issues. Conveniently located in downtown Banff. Close to all shops and restaurants and is pet-friendly! We will definitely return.

We loved our stay in your beautiful room!

This hotel is a classic. The location couldn't be better for shopping and downtown restaurants. The bed was comfortable. We couldn't help but notice that the vents needed cleaning, and the carpet should be replaced. It was very convenient to have free parking at this downtown location.

We enjoyed staying here except for being on the south wing which required going down some stairs. We both have knee problems. The mattress was one of the best we have slept on during our seven day adventure in Canada. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the Paddock Pub in the basement was rustic and relaxing. We stayed at both the Mount Royal and Fairmont Banff Springs. Mount Royal was much cheaper and a better value. Nice clean room. So close to everything. Bus stop across the street, all the restaurants are walking distance, and so are the clubs. Rental Car place is a 2 min walk. Bus from hotel to Sulphur Mountain was $2 and takes less than 10mins.

The hotel was perfect for shopping downtown and a quick drive to the hot springs and Gondola. The room however was awful. The carpet was torn and stained. I would not stay here again.

Mixed experiences at the front desk,Sharon was super nice and friendly. Really look like she enjoy serving the guest and enjoy her job. Is located right down town Banff and is as close to all the things you would like to see when in Banff. Bus service outside your door and great places to eat and drink. Not one of the nices of places in Banff I have stayed but I would go back there for location and the rooms were clean.

This hotel is situated in a perfect location! We had 2 rooms during this stay with our family - one with 2 queen beds and it was absolutely lovely, and one with 1 king bed.
