First night I had to kill 2 roaches in the bathroom. The room had a musty, unpleasant smell. We sat by the pool and one of the chairs was broken. The hotel grounds were unkept-trash, cigarette butts on the sidewalk. The breakfast room was not kept clean while guests were getting coffee,etc.

It was fine for the money. I'd stay there again.

Location is great if you have your own transportation. We were a short drive away from Siesta Key which was a great beach spot! Within walking distance of the hotel was a market (was able to stock up on some food and supplies BUT refrigerator kept everything at FROZEN rather than just chilled...). Pool area looked recently redone and was nice (wouldn't […] spend the whole day there but good for a break here and there). We walked to the "Southside" just a couple blocks away for some dinner/bar action. Room was not the cleanest I've seen but not worth switching rooms over. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights,the first was good the second I skilled a roach,no good,i spoke to the front desk about that issue and he said " what do you want me to do", the third night I found 3 roaches and one in my dauther's pillowi then o left the hotel.

Very pleased with all the service. Can't wait to book another wonderful weekend there. The breakfast was so nice with so many choices to pick from. I definitely recommend your hotel and services.

This is an adequate motel. There is a nice pool, the rooms were clean with new linens and mattresses. The decor is dated. The staff was very nice and the free breakfast was a good perk.

lousy place

Not far frmo the beach, but still close enough to get there. This hotel was clean, affordable, and we enjoyed our stay. The staff were professional and friendly.

I recently stayed at 2 Best Western properties. The first in Sarasota, the Mid Town property the next night at the Best Western Naples. The Sarasota property was run-down & dirty. There was hair in the tub upon arrival, the TV needed assistance to make it work & the toilet overflowed! I found the staff to be generally disinterested in our problems & […] I would never stay there again or recommend this hotel. Easy to find; older property but clean. Convenient location and very affordable for those heading to Orioles spring training. The pool did not look "swimmable".

Given the rates of other hotels, this hotel was the most affordable for me. I only needed one night's stay. The continental breakfast was acceptable, but the breakfast room is small, and I would suggest getting there early. The room would have been better with new carpet and thicker sheets and towels as these showed signs of wear and tear. The tile/grout […] repair in the shower looked rough. This Best Western was hard to find on a very busy strip quite a way from the center of town. Midtown is not very accurate. The breakfast bar, while clean was not well stocked. No yogurt. Newspapers were gone by 8 a.m. It was jammed with people.

Staff was very cordial. While the hotel is old, it is kept up with painting and was very clean. Much to our surprise,while the location at first didn't look desirable, it actually was a couple of minutes from Sarasoto's beautiful downtown area near the beach and just full of one nice restaurant after another. Came for a motorcycle rally in January and only stayed one night. Staff kept my bag in front office while we went downtown while the prepared room for a 3pm check in. The lady behind the front desk was terrific. Room was clean but like most hotel rooms the carpet will make the bottom of white socks dirty looking so we always bring something to wear […] on out feet while in the room. This hotel had some nice mattresses & bedding. Very comfortable. Also, the air conditioner was nice & new. The room was tiny & a bit musty smelling. I could have dealt with all of this better if the breakfast had not been taken up before the 10am cutoff time. It was a bit pricey for such a small, shabby room without breakfast. comfy bed private and clean what else could you want!!!

We arrived late. Upon check in we were informed that we were getting a non smoking room and had to initial that we would get excess cost if we were to smoke. When we got to the room, it must have been a smoking room at one time, the order was not pleasant. We stayed to one night and left early in the morning.

I had stayed here previously and when I was booking a hotel for this trip, I tried to remember the name of the hotel but couldn't recall it. By chance, I booked it again and was glad I did. It's an older two story motel. However, it was VERY clean, everything worked, and the facilities were in very good condition. The people at the front desk were very […] nice. Overall it was a good experience, especially that they were able to return via Fedex the iphone I left in my room and included in the room rate was a good breakfast.

The room smelled very musty, the TV and the the lamp between the beds did not work, and the sink had large cracks in it. We stayed here 2 years ago and were pleased; not so this time.

Stayed here 2 nights and if it wasn't for the horrible bed I'd give this place a solid review. The rooms looked nice and the place was well kept, however our room had one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept on. The hotel was most adequate for our needs. The bed was super comfortable with crisp linens and the bathroom was well appointed and spotless. It's near the downtown area as well as Siesta Key and the beaches. Although we didn't use the pool..it looked inviting and fresh. Our pets were welcome for a nominal fee. With Starbuck's next door, Publix supermarket […] and Panera Bread too, we were right in the action. Did I mention breakfast? Biscuits and gravy..bagels..juice..toast..fruit..coffee and tea..all complimentary! The lady who was serving breakfast deserves a warm thank you. Clean rooms, good location. Breakfast included which is convenient. Didn't like the outside corridor entrance arrangement (can't open the curtains without losing your privacy).Overall for a night's stay it's a good choice at this price.

Bed was comfortable with great pillows. Room was clean. Across the side street was some shopping. We felt safe with a lot of foot traffic. Grounds were well cared for.

The room smelled very bad.

the carpet needs to be steam clean my feet were black just for walking in the room and you need to up date your tv

I had a family memeber in the SMH and needed a close safe afordable hotel, this was the perfect place. One block form the hospital with easy access and eveything nearby.

I just stayed at this property and the room was clean, breakfast was pretty good, and the location was great! Only thing was houskeeping didn't knock before entering our room and tried to walk in, but thank goodness our door hindge was on because she was coming right in and we were getting dressed! But other than that, it was perfectly fine.

The hotel was very clean inside the rooms and out through the property. The pool was maintained well and the breakfast had variety with hot and cold choices, even hard boiled eggs. I would recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my sister recently. We shared a room with two double beds, shower, microwave and fridge. It was very conveniently located opposite a large supermarket and near a bus stop (we had not hired a car). The staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately I cannot give this hotel a good review. Although it was very close to Siesta Key Beach and other key areas it just wasn't up to standard. When we arrived in the middle of the night after our long drive we found roaches in the bathroom. Being tired and having never experienced bugs in a hotel, we thought it was just a coincidence (perhaps […] they came in from outside). We ended up killing 7 bugs that night! We told the front desk and they did apologize and move us to another room. But even in that room (though it appeared clean) the carpet was disgusting and we ended up scratching through the night probably due to bed bugs and dust mites!!! Nothing there was worth the high rate. Would not go back at 1/2 the cost.
