The location of the hotel was a little strange - on a retail park, which backs on to a housing estate. Once you were in the hotel, you forgot where it was located. Staff were very good, especially when my husband was taken ill - they did everything in their power to contact the emergency doctor/paramedics and one of the staff actually stayed with us […] until the doctor arrived. My only minus point to mention was that we were told there was an a-la-carte menu on the night we dined: but I would not call what was on the menu a-la-carte but a very good choice menu. I have read reviews where there were complaints about the cost of things, but if you read everything when you get there you can't complain about how much things cost.. もっと読む

Stayed here last year, really liked it, lovely again this year, lovely staff, friendly, welcoming and accomodating, cant wait to go back again next year!!

This hotel is very tired. It needs investment. I booked a double room and when I arrived they gave me a twin room without saying anything. I returned to the front desk and I was first told that I had booked a twin. I produced my booking receipt and it clearly showed a double room. I was then told that the hotel was full and that they could do nothing […] about it. I lingered and after five minutes they did "one more search" and they found a double room. On going to bed I requested a wake up call for 0645 for the following morning. I noticed that there were only two rooms who had requested this service. The following morning I woke up at 0700. I had had no wake up call. On checking out I enquired why. I was told that their internal phone system had been down and they only noticed it at 0730. I was still in my room at 0730 and no one had come around knocking on the door. I pointed this out and was met with a "sincere apology" - the usual tired collection of expressions. Didnt expect the hotel to be so good but it was fantastic. Rooms were well furnished (including an iron in the room which I like), condition was excellent and modern and the staff were immensely accommodating. Hotel easy to find and very conveniently situated alongside a Tesco Supermarket. Did not venture out in the evening as we we staying en route from the Portsmouth Ferry terminal. All we wanted was a good night's sleep and this was perfect followed by the highly recommended and excellent Hilton Breakfast which was included in the price. we got a bargain, less than half price and with a full breakfast. the room was ok , there had been a leak in the roof and it had stained the ceiling and the sofa bed wasnt to comfy, but everything else was great. just be carefull about any extras there may be (mineral water in the room was £3.95). all the staff were helpfull and polite.the restaurant […] and bar area was great, but expensive. I have stayed here many times and always enjoy the great service and the Horseracing theme ambience.

We had an overnight stay at this hotel during our week's long cycling holiday from London to Bath. Overall we stayed in 7 different establishments and this hotel was by far the best, in terms of service (hotel found us a spare conference room to store our bikes), room facilities - only hotel to provide toiletries and a HAIRDRYER, a decent hairdryer […] at that with its own shelf, mirror, plug! A woman must have designed it!! Hotel is in a tucked away location so you will need transport if you want to get anywhere - nearest pub is almost 2 miles away (we were walking). However, it guarantees a quiet night for slumbering. Breakfast was a buffet affair, with lots of everything to choose from, including lovely fresh breads. Overpriced, overrated and they make you pay for wifi. The walls are very thin so don't expect privacy - not what you would expect from a 4* hotel!

We had an enjoyable stay here and the staff were all very helpful. It is a shame that check in is so late. We were going to a wedding which started at 3pm and hotel check in was the same time. However the staff did take our bags and out them in our romm when it was ready and let my wife change in another room.

I have already written to the General Manager outlining my concerns regarding my stay the said hotel.

Was a lovely hotel and all the staff were friendly and made you feel welcome and comfrtable at every opertunity. The only slight draw back is you really need to drive to get to most places away from Newbury. We will be staying there again soon when we go back to visit our family.

A comfortable hotel with good breakfast and adequate inexpensive evening meal. Shower over a very narrow bath meant the curtain wrapped itself around your body! Hotel was some way out of Newbury and not on a bus route which meant having to drive and find parking to go into town. Highly recomeded, we could not fault anything.

Let me start by saying the hotel is clean, quiet, with a decent breakfast and ok sized rooms. My problem is that we booked a deluxe room. When we got into the room we saw it was of standard size, quite dark, and could not work out what about it was meant to be 'deluxe'. When we asked at reception we were told that deluxe actually meant that it had […] recently been refurbished, and the normal rooms were of the exact same size, but had slightly shoddier paintwork. Essentially this 4* hotel is selling sub-standard rooms as their standard offering, and renaming those with a lick of paint to be 'deluxe'. DO NOT BE FOOLED! Having said that, for the discounted price offered on hotels.com, it was fine. The 'deluxe' rooms are worth that. They are NOT worth the supposed full price, nor are they worth the extra tenner that you have to pay to not have to sleep in a room with bad wallpaper. When you hear Hilton you associate it to a certain level of hotel. Not in this case, this is "the forgotten Hilton". The one that slipped through the cracks of the upgrade roster. Once you get past the..... What? This is a Hilton? shock, and you think back and say "well if this was a real Hilton, I would be paying much more", things become easier. They […] do seem to make up the rate difference in overpriced wifi, and Internet, expensive bar food, which is at best so-so and the bottles of water in the room. Big shocker.... After paying 10 GBP for wifi, found out it only works in the lobby, not your room, so pay heed! Rooms are kind of OK but does not get to the full OK rating. primarily due to the tired, washed out feeling that they have, specially the bathroom. room very clean as expected from any Hilton

I use this hotel on a regular basis. The staff are always helpful. The rooms have ALL I need and are always clean. Even if I arrive late...I can get food and drink. Breakfasts offer a variety of choices...always FRESH and cooked foods are always HOT. Staff work as a team so things get done efficiently.

the hotel itself is what you would expect. service at the bar was poor - stood for about 5 min and then the service was less than friendly. upon checkout they wanted to swipe my card as they couldnt tell it had been pre-paid. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. However the power sockets in our room were dead and it took quite a while to get moved to a different room.

Man kan sagtens gå til hotellet fra stationen, men det tager omkring en halv time. Hotellet ligger lige ved en kæmpe Tesco, der har åbent 24 timer, og en hel del andre outlets. Værelset var pænt og rent - men lidt slidt. Skøn morgenmadsbuffet og god service. Der er et motionsrum på hotellet, men det er meget lille!

Hotellet er meget nedslidt, men det er vel standard for mange engelske hotel. Generel er tilfredsheden dog stor især p.g.a. personalets imødekommenhed og velvillighed. Rolig beliggenhed bag et stort supermarked.
